Unless I'm missing something, that's the most beer they've sold on a release day yet.

The next closest is a bit foggy because they weren't clear on exactly how much was canned/released on a couple but it would either be Child Support, Boss Man, Step Dad, MMSS, Stay Woke (405 cases +50-60 crowlers) or Lady Broz, Never Enough, Idontever, and MS (403-418 cases depending on how much Never Enough they dropped).

Neither of those days did they come close to selling 190 cases of a single beer. If I'm The Veil, I have a few takeaways:

500 cases and 3 brews might be the sweet spot for releases. Probably won't all sell out Tuesday, probably won't have cans sitting through the weekend.

Dropping a new/improved/favorite DIPA is going to be a big seller - if they drop 190 cases of Crucial Aunt or Dirt Nap with no limit (and not on a 600 case day) they should expect it to sell out Tuesday.

I do wonder how many people were there buying multiple cases where a 1 case per limit would have made it last a little longer or hindered so much that it stuck around all week? Maybe word got out that it was one to stock up on (I only got a 4 pack of Eternal but it's definitely one of my favorites).

I have seen tons of pics with multiple cases for one person on the interweb.

There are definitely people driving in from all over to load up on multiple cases. I saw a post of a muler loading his tiny hatchback with cases for his group back in Virginia Beach. The post seemed to be intended to call the guy out but he quickly posted on the thread to own the muling. No issues with what he did, if Veil cared about muling and spreading the love they'd set limits on how much you could buy.

If their batch size is near the 200 case limit for Daddy's Home AND Veil sets no limits on that one I fully expect that to sell out much much earlier (I have no idea when they sold out last night) with many people coming from way out of town and taking multiple cases. The South may rise up for it! HA! I'm also curious what the 4pk cost is going to be on it.

I saw tons of pictures for the Idontever week with folks taking hand trucks full of 10+ cases but I didn't see any this week. Seems like they've definitely been reported. I have zero issue with one guy coming and muling for an area because it likely means another guy from that group is going the next week and so on so you could have 10 people less in line (who could then be muling for others and so on). I feel like it probably makes the line move more efficiently if someone says "4 cases each" as opposed to "2 four packs of CS, 3 LLSS, 5 ES..."

They said they'd only bring back limits if people were getting shut out on release day right? I have a feeling on that one there will be another Dirt Nap type release - even if there are limits, people will be lined up 300+ deep come 4PM. I sorta think no matter what they do that release is going to be a shitshow. Can you imagine if they announce they're selling Forever Summer tickets the same day?

    Edit: just posted:
Golden Teku preview for Forever Summer Fest guests. The festival is intended to be an intimate event. Attendees will be able to enjoy beer and interact with representatives from some of the amazing breweries in attendance in a relaxed atmosphere free of large crowds and long lines all while raising money for a great non-profit doing important work in our community. We will be selling a total of 300 tickets (150 tickets per session with two 3 hour sessions). This will guarantee every guest gets to try every beer being poured. Due to the extremely low number of tickets, it does not make sense to sell these tickets online. They will only be sold from our tasting room. Further details about the festival including beers being poured and how these tickets will be sold to the public will be released next week.

If anyone can go-pick-it-up-for-me-bro, assuming ticket limits allow it, I'll take two tickets and bring some SD thank you beer.. Flying home to DC that weekend and was looking to attend with my father, but hopes are slim now.

With 300 total tickets I'd be surprised if this is anything other than a 1 per person deal.

I want to go very badly but am prepared to be totally disappointed personally - at least we all get to enjoy watching how this unfolds.

Even though they initially said tickets would be sold both online and in the tasting room I had a feeling it would end up in on-site only.

Since the demand is going to far exceed the number of tickets they should use some of that creativity they have shown in the past. Do a sort of Hornswoggler thing where they hide a token or something else along those lines and the recipient has the opportunity to purchase a ticket. Don't simply do a pre-sale where you show up and purchase them. Get creative, Veil!

I'm fully assuming it will be 1/person. At least I have the Festival of Dankess this Sat to get my IPA fill. Good luck to all you Va guys trying to go to this.

this is one time that I hope they don't do something like that. I'm prepared to wait in line to get a ticket. I'm nearly certain it will be 1 ticket per person.

They should just go WB on tickets sales. Keep it silent and one just happens to show up on a random Monday, Sunday, etc and Veil just happens to have let's just say 50 tickets to sell for that day. Have some fun (for them not everyone clamoring to get them) with how they roll out the sales since there are so few.

I'll say this, I feel a bit better about chances now that they're not doing online sales. But only marginally. If they do something like they do for can releases, no way I can go stand in line all day (and let's not kid ourselves, possibly overnight). But something like "everyone in line by 3PM gets a # - we'll pull 300. if you're here with a person, you can tie your name to theirs to double chances and ensure one doesn't get shut out..." something like that couldn't really be any more fair.

Edit: just looking over the FB comments - Veil seems to be liking the 2 per person comments and not the 1 per person ones.

With the amount of cases left for today, do you anticipate a line? Rolling in at 4:30 be ok or too late?

You should be good. There will likely be some folks in line when they open, and I bet cans sell out today at some point. I'd be surprised if that was before 5 but the closer you're there to opening the better obviously.

Guessing you have already left Va Beach, @rightcoast7 but if not, Esoteric just posted they will be tapping LLSS when the open at 4.

Heard that there may be two canning days next week (canning on Monday and Tueaday), which leads me to believe there will be a good variety of beers released, possibly four? Also, think they are aiming for around 200 cases of the OH collab. Just guessing, but based on the hops used, and the fact it's a TRIPA, I'd venture to guess four packs will be $18-$20. I have no idea how they are going to end up handling the tickets for the IPA fest, but I would be shocked if they released them Tuesday.

They did 2 canning days a couple weeks ago if I recall. Having 4+ beers and 600 or so cases is a pretty good way to ensure they won't blow through everything on Tuesday even with no limits. A $20 four pack also helps with that too for me!

That's what I'm guessing for the cost of Daddy's Home.

if it were me doing the ticket release and I were the business then I would do that on their least busy day to generate a little more revenue from draft sales. I don't know what day is typically the least busy but would assume maybe a Monday or Sunday. if they wanted to sell when people are coming to visit them anyway then a Tuesday would work or even Fri/Sat when it's likely their busy days. Tuesdays would be a complete clusterf*ck if they did that on top of cans however. Maybe even instead of release all 300 at one time they would spread it out. Maybe blocks of 25-50-100 tickets at a time over the course of a few days.

Also curious how they treat transfers. Since they are not doing online then will they actually take the name of the person who purchases the ticket down to ensure whatever the limits are or will it simply be if you have a ticket in hand then you can gain access and there will not be monitoring people who may try to purchase multiple tickets beyond the limits.

I think they'd be nuts to try to tie it with a can release if they don't do 1pp (which it seems like they won't) and don't do a lottery (which as much as I like that idea I bet they don't). I like the ideas of spacing them out over days but wouldn't be surprised if they just did a carpet bomb "they're here come and get them" type drop.

Really, nothing will surprise me. Like everyone I'll be happiest with what gives me the best shot at getting a ticket but I'm really not optimistic.

Side note: am I the only one that didn't realize that selling beers on Facebook like this is a thing? Apparently I've been under a rock.
I mean I've traded beer for awhile so I'm not casting judgement but this surprised me a bit. Plus one of these are/were still available. Craaaazy.
