Good luck to you 25 non-locals. Assuming the lottery folks will almost all take their 2 tickets. With that being the limit then I expect in person sale to also be set a 2 pp.

Granted the quality of breweries showing up at the event is nice but $100 is a hefty price. Anyone who drinksall 90oz better wrap up your hotel and Uber plan now. That's going to be one expensive weekend. And if anyone does take down all 90oz please let us know about it once you come out of your coma.

Non-locals may be wondering about the session times since it does not list it within the text. Look at the tickets.
    *Session 1: 11:00am - 2:00pm
    *Session 2: 2:30pm - 5:30pm

I still wonder what counts as "non local" - are they disqualifying anyone who puts "Richmond Virginia" or "Ashland..." or just saying "we're giving 50 away via lottery, if you're local great we saved you a trip!"

I'd love to know how many entries they get. Could certainly be a metric to help them gauge demand if there's a next time.

I've read and re-read over the lottery details several times and it reads like they are really providing the opportunity for anyone, not just non-locals, to submit to the lottery. This is just the non-locals opportunity to purchase tix if they cannot make it. Does anyone else read it like this?

Also, just thinking how they should roll sales out next week. They should really just punish the beer chasers. Do their can release on Tues and then do the in person ticket sales on Wed or Thurs. That leaves Friday for the Good Nightmare Mekong release and CCB invasion at The Answer. Punish the livers of the dedicated!

That's definitely how I read it. Though why they're asking for City/State seems unclear. There's the chance there is some filter they'll use (no RVA or within 20 minutes or something?) but who knows. If someone from RVA wins and can post that, it would be cool to know.

I think they should do a few different things: some kind of random drop, maybe even in off hours ("50 here for sale come grab them!" at like 1PM Monday - proximity and dedication wins), hide 25 in 4packs for Tuesday with Horns coins (the Tekus are gold too afterall, luck wins), state openly Tuesday night "100 for sale at open on Wednesday" and give people a chance to straight up camp out (dedication wins there) and then something like just offering them to people at the bar on Thursday night without posting to social media that's the plan ("would you like to buy a pair of ForeverSummer tickets too?" - regular patrons win). They could put a few on ebay to auction off with the proceeds going entirely to the charity as well (deep pockets win).

If Veil is reading I'm happy to offer my marketing consultation services for free:rolling_eyes:

Veil posted a video hint earlier today. Tried to grab a good screenshot. I'm pretty certain most can make out what it is.

I'm happy to see they put limits on these but I don't think they've set them low enough. I think we're looking at a bigger turn out than for Dirt Nap, but at least comparable. Right now, looks like about 165 people can expect a full allotment and only 270 can expect Daddy's Home.

On that Dirt Nap release - the most tightly allocated was Crucial Aunt where the first 240 people got that (MMSS was 330 and Dirt Nap was 360). The last person to get Aunt was got in line at 3:10PM.

Folks wanting to get these beers need to plan accordingly - this is the first time in a couple months where I'm thinking it will be necessary to line up a couple hours before open to ensure you get a full allotment.

Any thoughts on lines for this release? Thinking about making the trek over but want to make sure it's worth my time.

Don't be like some and show up 3+ hours early. The line will probably be the longest yet by the time doors open at 4 but if you don't make it down to RVA often do yourself a favor and check out Mekong and Strangeways before heading over to Veil. There are other excellent beer destinations to check out other than going right over to sit in line for hours. Both open around 11am/Noon.

Agree - of course if he wants his best shot at getting all the cans he should probably plan to be there at least by 2. Just depends on priority of getting these specific cans vs. having a good time I guess?

Based on case yield and posted limits, I'm expecting the first 150 people will get everything that they want.

Phone calls are going out :grinning::grinning::grinning: 2 tickets for the early session. Booking a hotel as I type this.

Going to throw up an IP trade post in a bit for anyone looking for some San Diego goodies.

    Festival is @ The Veil. There's an open-to-the-public after party @ 6PM.

30 tix (2pp) were announced and released Sometime after 5 today. Sold out by 5:30. They will announce details for the release of the rest of the tix tomorrow. Does not necessarily mean they will release them all tomorrow. So 50 for the lottery and 30 today leave 220 left and assuming the rest go 2pp as well. Gonna be fun to watch this play out. AM people lining up for sure tomorrow I bet.

So glad to see you got tickets! I hope you and your dad have a blast.

I lucked out and got the call on the lottery today too. After seeing how fast that random drop sold today (anyone see that coming?) there's zero chance I'd have made it in time if I left the second I saw that.

Best of luck to everyone still trying to get theirs!

edit: got it - i wrote that badly. I wasn't trying to get more tickets - was just commenting on how lucky the lottery was considering how fast the random drop sold out meant I'd have had zero chance there.

What do you do for a living that you can drive an hour + in the middle of a Monday to score beer tickets? You an Uber driver?

It's way more interesting. The level of butt hurt by some locals who feel they should have received more notice of the release today since they could not make it in time is priceless. Their Veil entitlement card was overlooked.
