Latest Pipeworks Releases and Updates (2018)

Heads up everyone, Mandarin Dragonet just reached "On the Horizon" status in PDubs newsletter. "Mandarin Dragonet - IIPA with honey, Citra, orange peel, and mandarin orange juice." Now we wait....

 

Eagerly awaiting this!! Can't get enough of the fish brews.

 

I agree. Spiteful released a mandarin orange DIPA earlier this summer (Grumpy Greg) that I really enjoyed, so I am super-stoked to try Pipeworks' take on this combo. It being a fish brew adds a bit of jet fuel to my anticipation.

 

Awesome. We don't any Spiteful here is the burbs, except I think Beer Cellar gets some occasionally. Cheers man!

 

Beer Cellar and the nearby Binny's in Glen Ellyn get Spiteful but it's not super regular and not always on the same day despite being miles apart

Has anyone else had a 'gusher'-like behavior from the BA Hyper Dog (Elijah Craig barrels) last release?

A few weeks ago I split my last bottle of this with @kdawgmoney and when we opened it, it just started foaming out like crazy (bottle was not shaken or anything and certainly had plenty of time to settle if it did). My first thought was, 'damn, is this infected?!' because of the similar experience I encountered with BCBCS '15 this year. But, not the case. After the foam stopped forming, the beer tasted quite delicious. Similar to when fresh but with less heat.

Anyone else get crazy foam from BA Hyper Dog after they opened it?

 

I had 2 from last year, and drank em both within 2 days. I had no issues.
Really hope they made a bigger batch this year, what was it like 40 cases total of it got distributed?

 

Anyone else think about Mandarin Dragonet daily?

Given that the NE IPA train is picking up speed in Chicago, what is the chance that PW recognizes that that style is a match made in heaven with their burnout fish series, and does something like "Purple (some sort of fish name) Haze" to denote their take on the style?

That is seriously weird timing if @Karnivool1 didn't bring that up because of the IG post.

 

I think it was when the Pdubs newletter came out last week, or two weeks ago, they said it was "on the horizon", since then I really have been anxious for it!
