Anyone seen Wicked Weed bottles in NoVA yet?

 

Any fresh hop beers starting to show up in DC? Particularly interested in Victory's.

 

Not a new release but a good deal. The Harris Teeter in old town Alexandria is clearing out lots of beer. They have some bins of any 20 beers for $9.99. Nothing amazing but some good beer to have on hand for when freeloading friends come over to watch the games. Saw some Terrapin Hospecutioner, Hop Devil, Namaste, and Dirty Bastard.

 

Seems like swarms of homeless people should be headed that way with those prices. Cheaper than a 30pk @ $16.99.

 

I don't think we'll be seeing it this week. Neither Dominion or Arrowine had it in their emails that went around today. I asked Dominion guys and they said there's still no word.

 

craft beer cellar posted bottles will hit DC next week. Wouldn't expect NOVA to see bottles before then.

 

Jailbreak Brewing released cans of their Dusk till Dusk beer today - does anyone know if they've sold out or has anyone gotten a chance to try it?

Will any le roar grrrz make it up this way? Saw some places in richmond got some variants in..

 

sounded like it would be next week at the earliest for bottles to hit the shops. Think they are letting the local bars all have their debut events first

 

Dominion in Falls Church got a case in a couple weeks ago (gone now). I think it was a one-off, haven't seen or heard of it showing up anywhere else.

 

Being Founders is new to Maryland, how quickly should I try and grab some breakfast stout? I see it has hit some liquors stores around the baltimore area.

 

Breakfast Stout is generally pretty plentiful and trends to last through the fall in most places. Usually several shipments over the release months.

People will show up very early, but, if it's like the last two years, there's no reason to. Just show up 5-10 minutes before they open to get your wrist band and mug. The "line" is a joke. It's just a bunch of people in the middle of a parking lot surrounded by beer tents.

 

the rarest stuff I heard will kick in 10 mins tho...

 

Being at the front of the "line" doesn't improve your chances of getting the rarest stuff. Last year, the people at the very end of the line were closest to and had the best chance of getting BA Abraxas. The "line" doesn't actually filter through any doorway/gate/whatever. Instead, when they "open" people just scatter in every direction. You will literally be surrounded by tents in the line. Note that this advice only applies if they continue their past practices.
