Was not patient and cracked open a bottle of Something or Other. Really enjoyed it. Favorite HPB release this far. Plus, raspberries are my jam.

To anyone that regularly flirts with Bob: any word on bottle/case count? I'll be getting there late on Tuesday but I'm guessing I'll be good.

How was the last 5pm weekday release? On a Friday I think? Tomorrow will be one of those rare Tuesday's that I'm off. 1uP is spot on. If I do make it to HpB I'll be there early to eat and have a few before grabbing some 4pk to go. Traffic will be sh!te. But I guess better than traffic on the 5 heading to/from San Diego on a Saturday.

I don't know if there's been a 5pm Friday release, I think all the Friday ones were around 2 or 3pm. Not that it would matter all that much. You'd have to scan through EB1's posts for past releases to see how long each Friday release lasted.

    Scanning:

April 8, Hello LA, rainy day, lasted until 10pm.

May 20, Neon, 11 cases left at 3:59p (gone by 5pm or so, but there are no time stamps on older posts)

    And during the Bonkers release:

EB1 talking about the previous 1Up release: "67 cases of One Up for sale and i think
we sold through those by about 2:45. 95 cases, 20 left" Bonkers at some point.

So 1Up went fastest but I think that's the one where they had a really low yield due to canning problems that day.

    Thx.
I know HpB had a 5pm please during the week. Just can't remember when. I think Tuesday is do-able.

They haven't released any cans at 5PM during the week. Honestly the last 5PM bottle release I remember there was BA GJG in 2015 during beer week.

We won't know for sure until its canned but in all likelihood probably shooting for the standard 120 cases region with a limit 4x 4pks per person. The bottle I think is likely in the 250-350 bottle count region and my speculation would be 1-2 bottles per person. My educated guess is we are out or almost out of cans around 9 (assuming 120 cases). *This is all speculation, so dont base your arrival times on my guesses and don't get mad if you miss out because it ran out quicker than I expect. For all I know the HPB post will contradict everything I guessed.

Told my boss I might need to take a "mental health day" soon, then found out bout the 1Up release and said, "yeah, I definitely need that day off on Tuesday". Gonna Uber down there a little early, try to find some records I need at PermRex, then hang out at The Hermosillo til can/bottle time

I've never gone to a HPB can release early before, though, does anyone know if they're planning on letting you pre-pay or handing out tickets or anything like that? I want to chill at the bar, not stand in a line in the parking lot, if that even happens... Every time I've been before, I just walked straight to the back and walked away with my cans within minutes... to the bar to grab some grub and pours. Seriously one of the best spots in town.

Edit: oh snap mystery bottle is BA Junior Junior

Unfortunately because it's a Tuesday, The Hermosillo doesn't open until 5p. In the past we have started selling tickets early that you could go to the bar and drink. I'm not sure if that will happen this time, but possibly.

    And according to instagram:
    6x One Up 4pk limit
1x Buffalo Trace Barrel Aged Junior Junior

Caring more about the bottle than the cans, one per person and 350 bottles... I guess that gives us pretty good odds.

    See y'all tomorrow!

For me it will be roasting all day, jam over to Hermosillo to buy beer, come home, prep for garage coffee on Wednesday morning along with figuring out Wednesday deliveries, and then back over to Highland Park to see the mighty mighty mighty Mekons (along with Sex Stains, a really great local band).
