Grimm Artisanal Ales (September 2016)

i didn't ask. they're not too knowledgeable over there. someone from the cheese dept. helped me. the guy last week was right though, they get beer deliveries on Tuesdays.

 

Went to WF USQ on a whim, wasn't expecting to see the cheese counter fully stocked like that. No one was around so I wasn't able to ask about Splish.

 

Pulse Wave, Lambo and Splish all landed in Syracuse today! Pulse Wave is my all time favorite Grimm beer, but Splish being on the truck as well was a great surprise and really made my day. Will drink and post a review tonight after work!

 

Just got a Beermenus notification that Noble Grains has both cans for $1 each. That can't be right.....

 

Just grabbed two Splish at 209 Station in Windsor Terrace; also had a couple dozen Lambo cans, 2/per can for $6/ea, might be best deal in Brooklyn right now!

 

I was at WF BK-G around 1p, no Splish yet.

 

All 3 at milk and hops(Broadway), 3 of each per

 

splish 2pp at top hops too, had 2 cases sitting out

 

Does it make me a jerk to be annoyed when I see posts about Grimm being in Syracuse, when I'm happy to turn up 2 cans per release/hunt down here?

 

I mean I'm sure limits are tight up there too. I got 2 at Top Hops and was on my way home when someone posted about Milk and Hops. Figured two was enough as I'm pretty tired. If people are hunting or have the day off, right there you'd have 5 cans of Splish (and 3/3 pulse & lambo) if you wanted. And that's all before it hits most other locations. Pretty good if you ask me.

 

Allow the annoyance to take away from another pain, like not getting chosen for the HF CW. Sort of like being punched in the face while having a broken leg: you stop thinking about the leg.

Silver lining!

 

I'd say yes for a number of reasons...

#1 They brew the cans in VA, not NYC, so I'm not sure why you would feel like you are more entitled to them living in the city than those of us upstate.

#2 Onondaga County as a whole (where Syracuse is located) got 6 cases of each Grimm DIPA (so 18 total) for this release. Obv the population in NYC is far greater so you guys get a ton more, and it's certainly not like we are up here Scrooge McDuck diving into our vault full of Grimm cans.

#3 NYC is pumping out a ton of the best beer in the country right now. Not to mention your distro is much better than ours (pipeworks, half acre, Grey Sail, HF ect). And you guys get many special releases we never see up here. My options to attain world class IPAs are Prison City, score a few Grimm cans or drive 5 hours to Trillium/Treehouse.

Yes! Apricot Rebus was picked up by Union this afternoon at Flagship. I don't know who will be first to receive it or tap it, but i imagine it will start showing up on draft in a week or so. As with the rest of the Rebus series it is draft only.

 

picked up 3 of each at Milk & Hops, walked over the WF Union Sq and they had a hand full of Lambo door left

Both places had the bottles of Kinetic and the beliner weisse i forget the name

 

I grabbed the last two cans of Splish at Milk & Hops. They had Lambo door and pulsewave as of 5:40pm.

 

I picked up 3 of each at milk & hops around 530pm. Tried whole foods, but they only had 1 can of lambo door and couldn't sell it because it rang up as a 4 pack and the mgr said he couldn't sell singles. Weird.

 

Nice to see that this round of Grimm is easier to find for everyone. Once you think they're all gone, a new truckload shows up. Wonderful.

You got the bad can. Pulse Wave is fantastic. Tastes like a Grimm take on a west coast ipa to me.

 

I grabbed 2 Pulse Wave there and was being charged for 4, had to run down and grab the other 2. Kind of annoying to want 2 and have to choose between 4 or 0.

 

So how's Splish?
