Mikerphone Releases and Updates (2018)

May have to set aside my fan allegiance for that HB release.

 

Figures, the one day I can't go beer hunting after work.

I usually have decent success because of the lag before it hits the burbs.

 

You just won a World Series, you can fudge a little!

 

Agree the picture looked hazy but you can never tell.

 

Any suburbs sightings? Not sure if it will be late today or early tomorrow.

Well...if that would help keep it on the shelves a little longer, I'd be on board with the name.

 

Bottles & Cans got their shipment, I was one of 3 people IN THE SHOP when it hit. Better get there quick.

Also, spoke to Mike about the brewpub...basically no time-table for it opening. It sounded like more of a red tape type of thing with the city than anything else.

 

He says as he rolls up his sleeping mat, folds up his tent, and takes the coffee pot off the camp stove.

 

I was literally loitering in the shop for 20 mins.

I'm not proud.

 

I'm genuinely beginning to worry that my next job won't afford me the flexibility to get any beer in this city.

 

Did anyone notice Capone's IG post about getting the Mikerphone today? A comment along the lines of "when we get a beer, we don't hide it". I thought that was interesting - was it a shot at someone else that does that kind of thing?

 

I thought Capone's was renowned for doing just that, I suppose I am wrong..

 

Yeah, I thought I had recently heard that they literally do do that, so I found that ironic. Printer's Row holds some of the Mikerphone stuff for like...5:30 releases, don't they? (or at least, they have recently, I think)

 

It wouldn't surprise me if they did.

 

That's what I was thinking while I read it, which made me wonder about the origination of it. I've been there at times where I wouldn't consider beers so much "hidden", but they're behind some of the stuff near the counter, so you have to ask for it.

Printer's Row does hold some of them until 5/5:30, which I actually don't mind at all. It gives people that aren't as free to leave work a shot at getting them. It tends to not help me (I've only been there once for the 5 pm release), but I can't hate on that practice too much.

I wasn't sure if maybe it was a shot at Binny's, who keeps all the Mikerphone stuff in back, and maybe has more employees that get their hands on a bottles?

 

If you aren't willing to lose your job in the pursuit of beer you don't deserve to be called a beer advocate.

 

I went to Open Bottle 30 min after they posted on IG and there were only 6 bottles left. Normally they last 4-5 hours there. People are going crazy for Thursty.

 

Currently staying an extra 30 mins at work due to my loooooooooooong lunch.

 

Looks like it just hit The Beer Cellar. Probably Ardmore shortly. Not sure about the various Binny's.
