Is that the norm with special releases? Last min announcement right before opening?

From the website: We will update this page - and @treehousebrewco- AS SOON AS EACH BEER IS PACKAGED! Very rarely certain beers may become available silently to maintain a manageable situation for our staff, retail shop, and neighborhood. Additionally, we often open early to mitigate the accumulation of the line. Thank you for understanding.

    We shall see

How long will 160 cases last? Think I'll get some if I'm there by 5?

Enough allotments of VH for ~1280 people. Will it last the night?

Going to say no. Figure 400 people an hour in the can line. Is a sale every 15 seconds. But odds are on special releases they open early which means you can bet your behind that a sale every 20ish seconds which is slow compared to the norm. And when they are cranking they hit sales of 1 every 8 seconds? Cant remember from their twitter comment from way back.

If they don't sell out it is going to be extremely low to the point of 1pp for Saturday.

Based on my math, given a 4PM opening, they're gonna need to make a sale every 11.25 seconds to go through that VH by 8pm.

The number they quoted was 9 seconds per transaction. But they've increased that speed since then by a LOT. Let's take a look at the Juice Machine release:

    500 cases * 24 cans per case / 6pp = 2000 allotments.

Tree House opened at 3pm that day and sold out by 7:20. Assuming they were running on all cylinders and hitting that 9 second mark all night long:

    260min * 60s / 9s per transaction = 1733 transactions

So they're already faster than that. And what's more impressive is that there was a hefty lull around 4pm where there was zero line for 15-30min. So they're down to around 7 second transactions which is a whopping 20% faster than their previous top speed (which was calculated based on a busy Wednesday). And to think they also filled 200 orders of growlers during those same 4 hours and 20 minutes!

My math sucks as I am at work juggling 3 different things. Like I said I don't think they will have any or it will be such a low amount for Saturday.

It always depends on weather, how big the line is at opening, and the traffic.

I really hope it doesn't sell out as I want some cans to go along for Saturday's growler fills.

Yeah I'm consistently impressed by these guys. My fridge is too full of beer as it is to make the trek today, jealous of everyone getting to try this!

They don't have as many registers going as can Wednesday's. Somebody has to fill growlers and work the door reg. I say there will be leftovers. If my kid wasn't sick, I'd swoop in just before closing.

Yeah, but they capped growlers at 200 which were filled by 5-5:30, and had extra people cashing people out for cans because of no growler fills.

Can anyone give me a reasonable Saturday morning line estimate? What would the wait look like if you arrive around 10? Thanks!

That place was a zoo. Totally worth it. I'm a sucker for Nelson hops and I've been wanting to try bright with nelson for a long time now. That stuff is great. I'm really impressed with that one. Very hazy is my favorite whale so I'm excited about that too. Had my last one last sunday so this worked out well. Regular bright is a great brew too.

I don't usually do saturdays at TH. Its a tough time for me. The last time (and second time) that I went was after the last VH release. They opened at 10 and the line got pretty long by the time they were open. At 10 you'll get what you want but you might be waiting a fair bit.

Yeah, but my point was that during those 4 hours, they had staff filling growlers for 2 of them which eats into the available number of people to do can sales. The fact that they were so fast even with people doing growlers for part of the time is damn impressive. I'm sure they could be even faster if they didn't do growlers at all.
