Amen. The area that Total Wine is located was utterly bereft of joy. I had to drink half the six pack I bought in said establishment just to stop crying long enough to brave the drive back to greener pastures. Turns out drinking is popular in Manassas strip mall parking lots.

It's just a horrible, horrible thing when a NOVA Elite has to set foot in Manassas for any reason, isn't it?

But it is beer, so come on over to the dark side, NOVA Elite. We welcome you with open arms

Should hit DC today and tomorrow.

I'll be tapping it at Meridian Pint tomorrow, provided it arrives on time.

Also getting a Willett BA Imperial Stout.

As someone who lives and works in the District, it's actually pretty tough to get out to VA during the week to pick up a limited release on a specific day before it sells out. Plus I simply don't know the landscape of stores as well. I spent all day on Saturday at breweries in Virginia (Aslin, Ocelot, etc.), but had no idea where to go to find Born Yesterday!

    This.

I'm no DC Elite, just someone without a car that finds it easier to walk to local shops around Dupont/Admo/Columbia Heights/Logan Circle etc. For some of us it's just much more convenient to find stuff in DC then make the trek out to VA on a weekday for that "limited release".

Frederick MD (Ye Olde) had Born Yesterday's on Friday 10/21.
Allagash Farm to Face was sold out however...they had some week prior.

DC Costco has had BBB periodically during the last year or so - at a very reasonable 11 bucks a bottle when they've got it.

A lot of those NoVA places (Arrowine, Dominion are two that come to mind) come out with these mid-day weekday announcements and all of the teleworkers who live nearby are able to just go there and scoop up any special releases as soon as they come off the truck. I don't even bother with them anymore.

Yeah, but it probably looks pretty bad when they have to put "went to the beer store" on their work log.

I'm sure this will be easy to find, but anyone see Megadeath's beer A Tout Le Monde in DC yet?

Founders Harvest has hit DC. Fresh and delicious. But damn, it's expensive.

How does it rate compared to (the less expensive) Born Yesterday?

More of the pine/resin/citrus profile than the tropical fruit/red berry of Lagunitas Born Yesterday. Both have some wet-hop "green" character. Founders Harvest has a great orange citrus peel quality that I've always loved.

Both are exceptional. But the keg of Founders Harvest was almost exactly twice as expensive as the kegs of Victory Harvest (also great) and Lagunitas Born Yesterday.

Have Victory Harvest bottles dropped in DC yet?

Kegs are here. Have to imagine bottles are either here or shouldn't be far behind. Looks like only 20 cases for the city.
