San Diego: For your consideration

This thread has been a great help to me. Thanks. Heading out there this Saturday for a week and still need to find a hotel for Saturday and Sunday, then we're staying at paradise point resort starting Monday where my wife will be working a trade show.
I wanted to stay in OB, but haven't seen too much in hotels, is there any I'm missing? I think now we're just gonna stay near the gas lamp so we can be within walking distance of bars.
Definitely hitting up Alpine, Green Flash, Pizza Port, Ballast point, stone, as well as a couple others, but is there any that are a must do besides these?
Gonna fill up on Mexican and will look back at this thread for suggestions.
Currently live in charleston, sc and love it here,but San Diego has alway been a favorite of mine and want to use this trip as a way to sway the wife into moving out there so any other must do's that will help me convince her are appreciated.

We are renting an apartment for the week in Ocean Beach. I think you can do nightly rentals this time of year. We use VRBO and Homeaway.

 

Go up to Churchill's too.

 

There are some smaller hotels around OB, but none of the large brand hotels, so searching might be a little harder. However, as an OB local I highly recommend the area.

 

get a burger at rocky's crown pub on ingraham.

best burger in the world.

full disclosure - I haven't been to lithuania. but I've never heard a thing about their burgers.

OB is sweet. I lived on the corner of santa monica by the lifeguard tower for three years a long time ago. had there been a pizza port OB back then I suspect my life would have turned out differently and not for the better.
