How does one get such an invite?

You have to be at the top of the list when they add some more people. They aren't currently taking new people on the list.

 

They still self-distribute in WI

 

Just curious if they get a bottle of Assassin?

 

They did not. The email explicitly states they are not getting in on the guaranteed Assassin this year.

 

Are lotterys at TG typically first come-first serve? Or are they usually you enter the lottery during a registration period and then might get drawn?

 

No one knows. This is the first time they have done a lottery.

 

Another flurry of tweets tonight in which they confirmed the KBBS & Assassin lottery will be a one entry per person online signup. More details will be released 'soon'.

A few other random notes:
+ They're aiming to open their new place in the August to October 2017 time frame (potentially in conjunction with the 2017 MD release)
+ King Sue will be canned in the future
+ Illinois is on their radar for 2017 distribution
+ There are currently over 509 people on the Mug Club wait list

 

So on January 13th, at sometime after the release party, will KBBS and Assassin be available on Draft to those unfortunate souls that did not win the lottery?

 

Whereas most limited beer release lotteries these days have people forcing relatives and friends to signup to stack their odds, this one's going to a whole new level, like dead ancestor level. I've got email addresses going back to the Upper Paleolithic all ready.

 

The time of year should be interesting for people from out of state...especially the southern states that dont get much snow...driving can be treacherous in Iowa with even small amounts of snow....

 

Clark wouldn't want it any other way. He's eating all this attention up. I'm patiently waiting for the daily "Assassin is #1" tweet.

They've never been draft in the past. Don't see that changing. They have put MD on tap during the KBBS and Assassin releases in the past however.

 

2013 KBBS Saturday morning draft release event featured KBBS, MD and SR-71 Blackbird all on tap as well as on premise bottles of that year's 2013 yellow-wax Assassin. Their barrel program has certainly expanded so can always hope for them to produce enough for some kegs again, the flavors and aromas of KBBS really pop on tap.

 

I attended this, awesome event. Truly the last low key release TG will ever see. SR71 was the non-barrel aged version.

 

KBBS was on draft in 2012. Happened to catch it on my drive up to Minneapolis. Mike said it lasted weeks.

 

It's funny because I'm sure we'll look back and talk about the "good ol days" when Term Oil was on tap almost all the time this year. I'm sure when/if they bottle it, it will be a whale like their others.

I thought they said a couple of times that it was a draft only project but I could be wrong.
