Had a bottle of Coconut VAS on Sunday night. 4 of us agreed it was not very good. Tasted like fake coconut or something

Do you think this will improve with age? Was looking forward to this one

Adjunct focused stouts rarely improve with age

    Not always true:
VR, MD, KBBS, KBS, VBDL, etc
Some do not. This particular one will only improve by not drinking it. Something was really off with it, an artificial flavor to it.

If I'm heading to Minneapolis (also willing to cross over into Hudson) for NYE, what're the odds I'm going to be able to come across King Sue or Sosus?

For bonus points, any other recommendations for brews of a similar nature? Really don't want to miss out on my chance to try something from this style.

Can we keep this never ending argument about beer aging/improvement/inflated trade value out of the bottle hunt thread?

Anyone know if Michigan Maple Jesus has hit anywhere in the Citites? I know it's been popping up in ET's distro over the last week or so, but I haven't seen any here.

Difficult to say on those. They have been putting them out a little more often this year than in the past it seems, but there is really no set brewing schedule for most TG DIPA/IPAs. I'm sure there will be some sort of TG DIPA/IPA bombers available around that time, which are always worth a try. For those, Casanova in Hudson would probably be your best bet, as Twin Cities distro varies for the bombers.

As far as other DIPA/IPA options, I'd suggest Surly Todd The Axe Man, Surly Abrasive (this one for sure), Fulton 300, and Town Hall Masala Mama to name a few. Plenty of other great breweries too though. Not sure what you've been able to try from MN already, but those would be a few suggestions if you haven't had them yet.

I'd say whatever Toppling Goliath bombers are in stock and fresh are worth a try. They don't really have a set schedule for releases so whatever they brew is what you'll find in distro. They rarely miss the miss the mark though, in terms of hoppy alcoholic beverages.

I find almost all of Ballast Points adjunct offerings (especially their fruited IPAs), to be very artificial tasting.

Was there a rumor about Christmas BOMB! landing or am I hallucinating again?

I had one last night & my grumpiness towards recent TG releases turned to happiness. Wonderful pale ale. Made me as happy as those first, old bombers of Sue did.

Definitely appreciate the recommendations. I've been through MN a few times and I've given the Surly brews a try - and I'm a big fan, was just really hoping to get an opportunity to try some of the hazier, juicier varieties since nothing even remotely close to that style has hit my local area yet and it's something that I've only tried once (a one off hazy grapefruit NE style IPA mailed across Canada for me) and was a huge fan of.
