You can lament how expensive beer is if you want and you are entitled to feel that way. But it's a different story to rip $200 entry for beers that sell for a total of $3000 plus (that could change with new supply) on the after market and pretend brewery is being unfair here

Would these 2 beers give me and my 30 something friends who have wives/kids/busy lives a great excuse to get together for a bottle share? Hell yeah it'd be worth $200 for a one-time great night

It's worth it to me as well but 30 people and a 12 oz bottle sounds like a bummer of a bottle share

Not a bad idea. It's how the NFL sells Superbowl Tickets. You pay up front when you sign up. If your name isn't drawn (several months later) you get a full refund. It's proto-type capitalism. The rich can afford to register and pre-pay many times over and increase their chances of winning. Isn't that how it should be? :grinning:Trump2016:grinning:

I don't agree that people should have to pay to enter the lottery, but I do think that if you're chosen, you should have to pay the $200 up front, and it should be non-refundable. This would allow them to get as many people that actually can attend, attending, rather than allotments getting put away for a rainy day, as well as satisfy some of those that missed out on the first drawing.

So by your logic you shouldn't have signed up your wife as she is a potential no show?

I did my one entry. No way I'm signing up my wife....she'd shit if she knew I was even considering paying that for beer.

To the guy that said winners will pay up without a second thought...wrong. I am fairly certain I'll fork out the $$, but not without serious misgivings. I'm sure I'll "decide" many times to blow it off before ultimately caving in.

I hate that the same type of fanatics who've systematically driven prices for things like sporting events and concerts to insane levels have now started to destroy craft beer.

Done and done. It's a price that's high to me, but they could easily charge a lot more. I get saying how expensive it seems, but it's clear there are probably thousands of people willing to spend the money for the beer. In the end, your life won't be that different if you get it or not. Enjoy what you enjoy.

It's pretty simple. You think TG doesn't know what Assassin and KBBS sell for on the black market? Of course they do and they know people will turn around and flip their 2nd bottle of Assassin for at least a G, which thousands of people in this country will pay for and many more from overseas will fly in and pay for.
