Has anyone seen Tin Whiskers Phase Shift 02 around Minneapolis lately?

 

Total Wine Maple Grove received 10 cases Friday. Stopped by Saturday around 3pm and they were already sold out.

 

lol sheeeit. Looks like the word is out on this stuff. Is it just hitting or was this the tail end of distribution? I've looked back a page or 2 and haven't seen much mentioned about it.

 

Really? I haven't seen a single other report of it in the Twin Cities yet, nor any mentions on social media. This stuff generally sits for days or weeks...I suspect (& hope) that whomever you spoke to was thinking of another brew.

 

Any inside word on when Lagunita's High Westified is dropping?

 

You have to be right, I haven't seen one tweet about anyone getting it in.

 

I'd have to take off my shoes to count the number of times I've been told a store has something, only to show up & have it be something else. Lots of confused liquor store employees out there, & frankly I don't blame them.

 

I was shocked as well but, in this case, I believe they were right. There was an empty Central Waters BBS box sitting on the floor where they once were and many more empties up front at the registers. I ran over to Princeton's right after that and grabbed a couple 4 packs.

Also, Vinifera in Plymouth Tweeted they received it last Thursday.

Off / on topic - but I feel like I'm in a minority digging on this Lizard of Koz - it's exactly as described and is complex and different. I'm not like finishing this 750 or anything - so 12oz format would have been better, but it's a really interesting beer.

I kinda do! but I like it - it's a big imp stout w Blueberries, vanilla and chocolate aged in bourbon barrels, just like the label says - I get all of those things and it's just an interesting fun beer to me. Worth the $16. I won't buy any more but it was really fun to try.

 

Double barrel baptist at TW Chanhassen. About half a dozen or so bottles left. A handful of DSDB for anyone still looking for that one, too.

 

I was totally just messing with you, I can see how it might be good in small quantities. I am generally not a big berry and bourbon stout guy though (ie bramble). Glad you enjoy and cheers!

The Rye BA Pentagram comes out this week. Of the places that got it, Total Wine has it for $22 and the rest I have heard have it for $28.

 

Really? They told me not until tomorrow on the Double BBB. Grrrr...

 

I've heard later this month for high-westified, and Surly Misanthrope.

Rye barrel Pentagram, Schells Cave aged barrel aged, and Central Waters brewers reserve stout should all drop this week

 

FYI, Rye Barrel Pentagram, according to my Artisan rep, is the most highly allocated beer Surly has put out to date.
