Twin Cities Bottle Hunt - 2016 Edition

Has anyone tried it yet?

If it is so strictly allocated why do they even send it to other markets like Nebraska... Accounts that have been selling Surly in MN for 5+ years are going to see one case.

Yeah, no kidding, I believe it was around Darkness Day 2014 when they first said it was going to be packaged...

 

I think they have a different distributor west of 100. Pay no attention to what happens with those weirdos out west.

 

They are dipping Misanthrope bottles on Wednesday with the same volunteer crew that dips Darkness bottles.

 

We got it here in Iowa mid-last week....at $25/ bottle it's a hard pass.....

 

I think it is well worth that price point. I enjoy Pentagram, but it is not unique enough to justify $20+. The rye adds a lot to the beer and transforms it into something truly special.

 

I'd still like to hear if Surly is doing Rum barrel TEN. Lord that brew was good....

 

Anyone see Abraxas in Minneapolis? Is this a rumor, or forealsy? Havent seen any of the bottle shops I follow on Twitter say anything about it.

 

Yes, one store for sure got it in and I have to imagine its sold out already. 1 bottle per person.

 

According to Twitter, there is Black Note in at Zipps as of a few minutes ago.

Hoping it's better than what they had at ABR because it sounds good but the beer at ABR was not

 

Zipps is now out of Tweak and Black note. They did bring out a few six packs of high westified coffee but I'm assuming those dissapeared just as quickly

 

Crazy that a great local store like this, gets NONE. I guess Todd was right in saying that there were some changes coming at Surly...

Unfortunately, we will not be getting any of the Surly Brewing CompanyDouble Barrel Pentagram which will be the first beer in the 8 years that we have been supporting them that we will not get the opportunity to sell. Please, if possible, support the other local businesses that will be fortunate enough to get this and if you happen to find an extra, we would be more than happy to buy it from you for our own drinking pleasure.

 

Rye pentagram at TW Roseville and a semi-truck load of CW bourbon barrel stout, grabbed a case for $53 and change, what a steal!

 

What was the 4pack pricing on that stout? It's listed at $12.49 on their website which would put a case around $83 after tax....

 

^ Yeah wouldn't think TW would give case discounts on something like that. Especially a $30 discount.

 

I thought 4 4-packs in case? If not sorry my bad!

 

Interesting. The keg at DDay was kind of hidden away from the line and I was lucky enough to get a pour and I really liked it. Ten, not so much but the rum barrel made it awesome
