With 2016 winding down I was wondering what your favorite new New Jersey beer was this year. There were some really good ones but I was partial to Bolero Bullazed. Would love to hear your thoughts. Happy holidays.

Conclave Gravitational Waves for sure. But there were a lot of tasty new NJ beers spread around the breweries this year.

Really? Maybe I should give them a shot since they are not terribly far from me. Mine is definitely Brotherton Drip Down

I havent had the chance to have too many NJ beers but Cafe Y Churro was one of the best beers of the year by far, not just from Nj.

Flying Fish Exit 18 Baltic Porter. Loved that beer! From my review: "The potency of an imperial stout with the malt flavor of an English Porter and the smoothness of a Dunkel Lager or Schwarzbier." Nuff said.

Damn you know I forgot Cafe y churro was a new 2016 beer. So smooth and tasty. Still have one left.

Give years ago you could have posted this thread. Now the thread should be "Top 5 new NJ Beers"

True. Too many to name just one now. Shit, Kane alone came out with two new great IPAs in the last month or so.

Another vote for Brotherton a Drip Down. The Brotherton IPA was superb too so looking forward to more from this brewery.

I didn't get to try as many new Nj beers as i would have liked to for various reasons this year. Of the beers i did try Little Shimmy Ye was my favorite. The runner up would be one of the Magnify Woah beers.

I agree with what others have posted. As an honorable mention I would nominate S.S. Cream (I know it was a collaboration with Barrier but I consider it a NJ beer). It was unique and really tasty. I hope it is brewed again.

On top of my list are Brotherton Drip Down, Carton Regular Coffee and The Keel from Cape May which was a big, earthy barrel aged sour. All three were unique and outstanding beers in a year which saw our Jersey brewers really step up their offerings.

Sorry, gonna have to hit the buzzer on the Regular Coffee. That one's been around for a few years.

Kane Head High and Hop Lab: Citra and Carton Boat Beer, but that's every year haha. Head High and Boat cans are staples in my fridge. As for new beers, Conclave Gravitational Waves and Kane Party Wave stand out to me. I also thought Kane's lagers (Night Swimming and Sideshore) were damn impressive. I know it's a pipe dream, but I'd love to see Night Swimming around again in the future--the New Zealand hops put an interesting summery spin on a Helles.

I posted the below in another thread but this is a more appropriate place for it:

"I had my first beer from Double Nickel (Pennsauken, NJ) last night: a draft pint of their Pilsner. IMO this beer is excellent. I hope to be able to find/drink this beer again. There was another Double Nickel beer on tap (Deborah Sour) but I did not try that beer.

I would strongly recommend Double Nickel Pilsner to anybody who is a fan of Pilsner beers."

    Cheers to Double Nickel!!!!!!!!
