Indeed it was too good to be true. They stop selling these before I could buy tonight. They did say they may do something similar after the holidays. I assume it is not going to be such a good deal though.

I was enjoying my free 'recently released' pint last night and I over heard a lot of excitement over the new punch club offer. Some expressed similar comments as here.
They fill your growler directly from the tap without any filler hose so don't expect your growler to stay fresh long. You might want to bring yours when you get your growler filled.

I got a growler at Birch's on Sunday and opened it on Wednesday. There were no signs of oxidation. Even if a brewery uses a filler hose, I don't sit on growlers longer than a couple days.

I have kept them a week without any issues.

Birches should have put an end date on the Mug club promotion or update Facebook/twitter that offer is over. I was planning on going this weekend to join the club. Luckily you saved me a trip.

I was surprised to learn that the brewing equipment originally used by O’Hara’s (later by McCann's) was still in town. Hopefully something fun happens with it.

It was also used by Lupine when they were here, as well.

A friend of mine from Delano passed along that the Delano City Council recently approved a transfer of the South Fork Brewery license to a soon-to-be-new-owner. He also made an "Indoor Dance Application."
Don't know what that means for the beers and the taproom.

My single biggest regret is not going to Nutmeg before they hired professional brewers. It sounds like I need to get to South Fork soon, so history doesn't repeat itself.

I did a little creeping around on Facebook and found that the original head brewer is likely still working on The Lincoln Brewery in Eyota (he relocated his family there). There has not been a Facebook post from them since late September. He announced the brewery less than a month after South Fork opened. I did not find him in a single South Fork picture since their opening. He was only part-time, which is weird and probably not stable. The owner of South Fork's husband originally started as Assistant Brewer and may have transititioned at an undisclosed time. The original head brewer lists on LinkedIn a December 2015 end date at South Fork.

South Fork could have made it, but the beer was seriously flawed. I didn't help matters when I stopped in and the brewer came to the table and asked how the beer was tasting. I was polite and said the opposite of what I was thinking. Too bad. I want all breweries like this to.be successful, but maybe a little honest feedback at some point wouldn't have helped this place out.

According to Facebook, they applied in January. Anyone know what the hold up was?
