Hey guys, Apologies for the newbie question, but I'm new to the growler fill game. I want to bring a growler to a buddy's house directly from work on Friday. I'm a teacher, and I'm not about to bring my brew into a public school, even if it is just to leave it in the fridge (not just legalities...also, we have some known "vultures" in the school...haha) Would it be advisable to leave the growler in a cooler with ice in my trunk? For reference's sake, I live in NJ, and it's supposed to be in the 30s on Friday. Thanks!
I think it is supposed to be sub 30's in Jersey on Friday . You best check that morning. Believe me I'm not looking forward to the 20's either
I spoke with Dennis and since we all are in Jersey, we've agreed to wait in the vehicle and safely guard your growlers . Not a problem
Which part of the scenario gave you pause? A growler in a cooler in the trunk is giving beer the best chance of success in pretty much any travel situation. Even if it drops slightly below freezing outside, the cooler insulation and alcohol will keep it liquid.
Truth is I've had beers in my garage when the Temps were in the teens.....or even lower. And I've never had anything freeze- can or bottles. Wouldnt that though. Point is you'll be fine.
LOL that is awesome on the vultures. You are solid with it in car, temps are very cool and it will hold up just fine till your ready. Cheers
