Chicago Stout Releases (2018)

Mine was in the same exact section! Some weird holiday end cap. Must be the red box. Same price. Since I paid more do you think that will offset the flavor loss due to it being less rare now? Or will my Meijer Deth's Tar be just as delicious as a Target BCS Rare?

 

4 Hands Madagascar should be getting distro by the end of the month. Anybody hear anything about when to expect them to hit stores here?

 

I wasn't aware there was a non-BA Drago in 4-packs. I assume it's the BA version, since that's the only thing I've ever seen. Good stuff.

 

I think Drago is only Barrel Aged

 

Yeah, I don't see any other mention of Drago on WO's BA profile.

 

CW Bourbon Barrel Stout just started hitting Chicago. Beer Temple appears to have gotten it in today.

 

Just picked up a 4 pack today. This is a very solid BA stout and it's a steal at $15.99 for a BA beer.

 

LP Binny's as of yesterday had like 10~12 cases sitting on the floor Wednesday with no limit. Surprised to see it at the same quantity as their scotch ale.

Might pick up a pack but would rather have a bottle or 2. Last couple of times I had it on draft I thought it was good but not my favorite. For an affordable BA Stout I love the BA Neoplitan when it comes around. Looking for Drago but sort of have to go out of my way to get some.

I'm also kinda getting into the IPA mood after drinking exclusively stouts/porters for the last couple of months.

 

Lakeview Binnys still has Drago.

Haymarket releases Clare's thirsty today - growlers or draft only. No clue how long it typically lasts but they also have their 6th anniversary celebration tomorrow

 

Ohgodohgodohgodohgod....that beer is most likely my all-time favorite. Can't get there tomorrow, though.

 

I believe it lasted a few days last year. I'm assuming it'll be similar this year as well. I'll shoot for going tomorrow to get a few howler fills.

 

32oz growler fills, limit 4 per person?? They have a shitload of it.

 

I ALMOST went this afternoon..glad I didn't! Looks like I may be taking the train down for some lunch tomorrow!

Thanks for the heads up @Chuckdiesel24, but you've also insured that I'll fail at my "okay, Sean, seriously no beer purchases this week!" promise to myself...

BA Impervious w/raspberries (the GI Clybourn beer from their celebration) reminds me a lot of this beer, and they're both fantastic. Can't pass up a chance at 32 oz. of raspberry goodness.

edit: Also, what are they doing for their 6th anniversary? Is there a link to an event or something?

Are these full growler fills, or just howlers (or both)? Also, I assume Haymarket fills other breweries' containers, no?

I'm heading down there for lunch tomorrow.

 

Just 32 oz growlers. I Got 2. Max 4. They do fill others. And yeh, from the 10 oz pour I had, its really good. I don't love the idea of raspberry but it goes great in a BA stout. Or at least this one, which you can just tell is a very solid BA stout, adjunct aside.

Edit: and only 10 bucks for a 32 oz! Howler extra if you don't bring your own
