All the reassurance I was looking for. Didn’t want to stand alone on an island

 

To be totally honest, I agree. It's still a great beer but it's not what I remember. I didn't want to bring it up on here since all the reviews seemed to tell otherwise.

 

I had idipa last year and it was not a standout to me so I did not seek it out this year. I will be there today if any still left I might grab a 4 pack but that's about it (usually I buy min 3 four packs of each, one to drink now myself, one to share with friends, and one to drink over a few months at random).

 

I would agree that it is sweeter than the last iteration but this is still a dank style IPA. The videos explain that the hops and malts were sweeter this go round and there was an effort to balance that when the Superego was made.

FWIW, I also loved the escalation of the artwork on the three cans. Humorous with the psychiatrist and client that are taken over by hops as each can progresses

 

I can't find the info anywhere, but i coulda sworn i saw somewhere that its possible to get kegs of BOAT from the brewery? I think we had to call for availability, correct?

 

It is possible but been hard to come by lately

 

When it's possible but it has been very oversubscribed recently. We are working on more.

 

@augiecarton I am not sure what sort of dark magic resulted in the deal to bring IDIPA cans to NYC, but I just want to thank you... I live in NJ, but work in NYC and this makes it infinitely easier to enjoy your delicious product. I really, really, really hope this is at least a semi-regular thing in the future.

 

thanks man, glad it's making you happy. as always its a work in progress and we are looking to fine tune at all times. ideally this is a step closer to it just being reasonably available and proper, when and where, you want it

 

I picked up IDIPA in Brooklyn last week excited to try it.

Can we expect to find more Carton Beer distribution in NY in the near future?

 

Any South Jersey peeps see any of these at the Canals or the Roger Wilco?

 

Been checking Canals Lawrenceville (I know not technically SJ) and Wilco in Pennsauken and have yet to see at either. I think the guys are getting tired of me stopping in 3 times a week and asking if they have any Carton stashed in the back. I'm really hoping they get enough of it to just put out on a semi regular basis and not hide it. Sometimes tracking down someone who knows what I'm talking about can be a PITA.

 

Can I just take a moment here to say how much I love Gilded Lily this year? I've had it every time they've released it, but for some reason it's really resonating with me this year. Was just looking through the Untappd ratings/comments and I didn't realize how divisive it is. For me, it's easily in the top 2-3 beers they released in 2016.

 

I bought some but haven't had a chance to try it yet this year. Looking forward to getting past this flu so I can have one

 

SHHHH if everyone loves truffles they will cost even more and it is hard enough for me to justify this project as is. let's just leave it like boat, some people get it some people don't and that is perfect.

 

In the Randall is Red Rye through blackberries. Sounds tremendous.

 

Make that two on beer and flu...

 

Get better quickly guys. Those hoppy beers aren't going to wait long!

 

Luckily I'm not as hop heavy as usual.

 

Not sure where in South Jersey you are but Canals Berlin said they got it in stock now too. Limited while available im sure however
