It has a noticeable malt presence on the back end. I think it works well. First time I've had this beer though.

This week is looking pretty solid:
Johann the Mango Thief ($5 per, max 4)
Dunley Place DDH ($5.25 per, max 4)

Visiting DC next weekend, and not completely sure about whether I'd be able to get to Aslin this time (in the area about once every month or two). Checked their FAQ and wanted clarification on some things.

-What do they mean by longneck growlers? Do they mean the HF/TH style 750s? I saw a tweet that they don't fill 750s. May be I haven't seen enough growlers to have seen a long neck 32/64 oz.
-What's the deposit on a crowler?

    Thanks for the feedback,
    -Shep

The 32 oz longneck growler is the one Tired Hands uses. Do a google image search for Tired Hands 32 oz growler and you will see.

There is no "deposit" for a crowler, but they also don't fill crowlers any more. As far as I know, nowhere does deposits for crowlers, but some places charge a $1 fee (a deposit is refundable).

Any expectations on how early you'll need to be there to get cans? should be a lot more hype this week.
How early did you have to be there last week to grab cans?

You didn't have to be early last week, went at 4 and had almost no line and full allotment available.

thanks. that's surprising. maybe because of combination of no DIPA, low can allotment, and no on-site booze? I expected a line for the first can release.

There was a line at opening, saw a post saying there were 60 or so at one point but by 4 there wasn't a long line, nobody was waiting outside anyway.

Oh really? My bad, I thought they had retired the crowler machine.

Me too, it was a surprise. Maybe they have some stock of empty crowlers they're trying to get rid of? Felt like they prefilled some so the line would move quicker at open.

Not sure in this was mentioned but they are in Virginia and this thread should be in the South Atlantic forum

Please don't bring that up. They are in a suburb of Washington D.C., it works much better this way.

Stop trying to move this thread. We put it here for a reason. The 'DMV' as it happens to be referred to is a mixture of two states (MD, VA) and the district or Columbia. Don't be an officous fascist.

VA is considered a midAtlantic state by almost everyone. The real question should be why is their so much discussion of VA beers and breweries in the South Atlantic forum..... Of course the real question is who cares, it is not that hard to bounce between two forums...
