I thought that 34 was overdone as well. I liked the 7 best. They were all fun to try though.

You know what's weird? I think that was my intial takeaway, too (when I had the flight). The reason I was thrown off is that my all-time fave of their beers is the 22-month Indignant (Belle Meade) from last year; I expected 34 to just be a richer version, and it wasn't.

Given that the younger stuff is Woodford, I'm curious how much that played into the different ages.

I'm of the mind that beer can be over aged very easily, just like bourbon. My sweet spot for bourbon is about 13-15 and with barrel aged beer I seem to like stuff just under a year.

I picked up a four pack in Chicago last weekend out of curiosity. I've had this beer on several occasions in cans and bombers and it has tasted different each time. I'm not overly impressed with this batch as the taste is quite subdued. Easy drinking and a decent price of $9.99 for a 4 pack of pints, but certainly nothing to lose sleep over.

I'm thinking the date may be a factor as the cans I purchased in Iowa last fall that were a few days old were much better than this. Perhaps it's like Zombie Dust where it falls off relatively fast? Pretty sad that a brewery just a stones throw away couldn't a send fresher product. End of mini rant, I'll pass next time if the date isn't within a couple of weeks.

A beautiful crisp day. Low 40s, calm. The rich smell of woodsmoke in the air and a view of the Ohio River off the balcony.

You have to like cherry and you have to like thin-bodied beer. I'm not a fan of either, but figured I'd give this a try. Looked pretty - rosy-orange with nice clarity and a slim beige head that quickly slipped away. I could smell the cherry immediately - and maybe something floral and/or of wood tannins blended in there. Right off the bat I was done with it. Perhaps if there were some richness to it, or depth, or a thicker feel? Tasted like watered-down, mildly sweet, carbonated cherry juice. Didn't appreciate much of anything else in there flavor-wise, and the ultra light body-feel was a big detractor for me. I know it's not my thing, and folks who like fruit beers and sours and stuff may regard it quite differently. It's gonna be a hit-or-miss kinda thing depending on your tastes. Guess mine haven't changed in this regard...
