Other Half Brewing February 2017

I feel this was probably due to the lack of variety of sought out beers at this release. Forever Simcoe and Forever ever being not as popular probably resulted in people who would usually get a little of everything to mainly just pick up the alluring DDH Broccoli. Also adding DDH to anything builds hype.

 

I normally buy 4 4 packs at each release. Lots of times its one 4 pack of each. Today was 3 broccoli and 1 diamonds. I think alot of people were just ignoring Simcoe and Forever Ever.

 

Beer Noggin has a nice event, if you're up that way

 

I only bought Broccoli today since I absolutely loved the regular version and I was kind of nervous to buy DGD because I hated the last batch of GD (not saying it's the same beer but I didn't want to take the chance). Not really a fan of Forever Ever and Forever Simcoe is released every so often so I didn't feel I was missing out.

 

Forever Simcoe is incredibly underrated.

 

On my way to BXV right now. Beer Noggin is awesome. Any beer bar serving Goldfish will get a visit from me.

 

For sure. Likely the case anytime the variety is "weak" but I'm also to blame. That said I didn't sleep on the Simcoe

 

Might as well have been a 2 can release from what I saw the majority of people walking out with.

 

I passed on Forever Ever and Forever Simcoe. Don't like the first and have had a lot of the second recently.

 

Anyone ask what's next?

 

So true. OH definitely knows how to properly use simcoe!

 

Got there just in time to grab one of the last couple of 4-packs of DDH Broccoli and I'm glad I did. Super intense, but it's a perfect mix of tropical fruit and dankness.

Anyone crack open a Dancing Green Diamonds yet?

 

Got there at 1030 and got my cans by 1130. I got to the PoS when there was only 3 cases of Broccoli left. Got 2 of em and tried it on draft. Really good.

Just drank a can of DGD and it is so much better than the last batch of GD. This should be the new recipe for sure.

 

You must have been right behind me. Was wearing an Islanders beanie. Glad everyone didnt grab cases when they announced only 20 cases left and there was 40 people in front of me.

 

I was in Manhattan about to make my over there at 12:15 and I saw on Instagram that they sold out of DGD and Broccoli like 10/15 mins prior. Damn.

 

They serving broccoli on tap/for growlers? Will swing by if so

 

Yep, just got a fill.

 

DGD is pouring a really nice Sunny D color and hiding the abv well. Classic OH dankness with orange citrus. Very clean finish. Would definitely buy again.

 

Just cracked one open. Definitely a big improvement from OG Green Diamonds. Very good, but not one of my favorite DIPAs from Other Half.

Also...

 

Just cracked a DDH Broccoli.....tastes great but it definitely needs a week in the can.
