That's disappointing. I thought the last few releases were quick and easy by TH standards. Hopefully this was a 1-time snafu. Maybe the line dude was hungover from Sat?

I think another problem too was the checkout, they're all day drinking 9 percent beers. So the ID checker guy is slower and chatty, the guys at the (ONLY) two registers are a little sloppy and chatty. It's nice to be greeted by friendly buzzed dudes at the end of an epic line but it'd be faster if they were sober and intense and moving you as fast as possible like, I dunno, Pat's Steaks.

That's how the dudes at Other Half were, my bud was snapped at for not moving fast enough and I thought that was great, keep it moving! We'll fraternize after the release at the bar!

My brother said it was a slow line because everyone was checking out the bongs.

while i didn't notice it being slow bc of bongs it certainly doesn't help speed anything up either... it's cool they are doing stuff like that but maybe you know keep it off to the side or figure something else out to sell them.

also i'm pretty sure I've been to a release with 3 systems in use to sell and yesterday just noticed 2... there was a lot of people to just be running 2 if they have more systems to use.. the line was very large.. luckily the weather was fantastic so I don't so much care about it taking 2hrs to get through the line but it did seem like between 12:45-1:25 things stopped moving.. if the dude above is right about the line guy leaving his post and then nobody moving across the street that sucks and would explain why it seemed to just linger with little movement

also i don't think the guys working the pos systems were drunk or buzzed in any manner.. sure they showed exuberance about the transaction but they weren't fucked up

“They sold out 700 allotments in under 2 1/2 hours.”

    Can you say “Cha-ching”!?!

700 allotments in 2 1/2 hours means they were processing over 4 transactions a minute. At that rate I'd have thought the line would have moved pretty steadily.

I didn't stand in line, but can confirm it's the longest one that I have ever seen.

Unrelated but maybe related: I just went to Monk's had had a pour of Pliny the Younger and Cantillon Fou Foune. Each took roughly a minute+ each waiting + ordering + getting handed the glass. The times they are a changing...

Maybe you didn't have to wait too long because neither of those beers are turbid hoppy beers!?!

Hmm, maybe he should think about tweaking PtY as I have had at least a couple local 'triple' IPAs recently that are better(not TH). Not saying he should use flour (though TH only does this in Milkshake)...
