Nothing perplexing about it. They charge those prices because people still line up or rush over after work to buy em at those prices.

To be fair, it seemed like a fair amount of people were taking a pass on the pilsner today. I was speaking with people while waiting in line and they all echoed the overpriced sentiment.

Yeah I mean I like pilsners but I'm not paying 15 dollars when I can get a six pack of prima for ten.

The cost of the IPAs are not representative of the price of materials either so it's not surprising that they overcharge for the Helles/Pils as well. The overhead of 2 breweries (only 1.5 blocks from each other for some reason) and monthly trips around the world is in the price of the beer. The demand is there. They are smart to get as much money from the consumer as possible. The supply of canned IPAs is increasing in the area so I hope the price starts to drop somewhat. I'm just curious if wallet fatigue will ever set in on these beers.

Yeah might just take a bit longer for that fatigue to set in given that you are essentially paying for beers from all over the country with these tired hands cans.

Unfortunately, I think the opposite is occurring - other local breweries are now pricing their beer to the level that Tired Hands has set.

For example, Victory is going to be releasing a brewpub only Double IPA at $16 a 4-pack of cans. In my opinion, 2 years ago they would not have priced a similar beer that high.

The only way to reverse this trend is for people to refuse to pay these prices - but everyone acts like they "need" every "new" beer - even if they are all very similar.

Fully agree.....but like everything else times will change and the fad will subside....you can bank on that.

Am I going crazy? Scythe tastes like the way I remember High Road - juicy/tropical/sticky with a rounded melon character...and Sunday's High Road tastes kinda boozy like the last batch of Punge...

Sometimes I think they just randomly put different things in cans and see if you notice.

Union Transfer is certainly promoting it like the latter.

Tickets are being sold through their normal website, and it's listed as an "All Ages Event" meaning they just wristband for bar area access like most of their concerts.

Interesting. I listened to the bands and I'd be willing to see them live, but UT stinks when it's an all ages show. You are locked into small areas to drink. I have seen them open it all up, but only if it's not that crowded. If this is just Tired Hands slapping their name on a concert, I'd be disappointed.

I wonder if this is just a Friday night event of a weekend long celebration?

not to go all "THE BEER$ ARE TOO DAMN HIGH" but Forest & Main is also guilty of high pricing. Maybe it's the cost of doing business for them but $22 for a 750ml is a lot. But then again daddy likes his F&M.

I was just at a show a couple weeks ago billed as "All Ages". You could take your beers anywhere (we were standing about 5 feet from the stage), you just had to flash your wristband to get back to the bar to buy it, at the steps on either side of the soundboard area.

Yeah, as bad as TH is, F&M's IPA's are even more expensive.

The 22$ bottles are pricey but damn they are good. I don't buy the IPA's often but the saisons are some of the best I've ever had and there is not a cheaper alternative.

There is some criteria when they allow that. Either low crowd numbers or too many 21+. But I've been at shows when it is never allowed.

Not sure I agree with this.

Right now, the most expensive IPA on tap at Forest and Main is $4 (10oz), $6.50 (16oz), and $7 (20oz). That is $0.40/oz, $0.41/oz, and $0.35/oz, respectively.

    A similar ABV IPA on tap at Tired Hands is $3 (4oz), $4.5 (8oz), and $7 (16oz). That is $0.75/oz, $0.56/oz, and $0.44/oz, respectively.

Yeah but the crowlers are equal to $6 a 16oz can. Milkshake territory.
