Additional guidelines about the anniversary party posted this morning.
    ______________________________
**HERE ARE A FEW MORE ADDITIONS REGARDING INFORMATION FOR OUR ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY**

We have received a lot of inquiries regarding people purchasing tickets for other people. In an effort to reduce the possibilities of muling/people who actually want to attend the festival for the experience and not just getting beers to go and leaving getting shut out of tickets, we will now be requiring that to redeem entry on to the grounds, you must provide ID and MATCHING CREDIT CARD used to make the purchase for the tickets.

So if you purchase tickets online via EventBrite, while security/staff are checking names on will call in line, you must provide a matching ID and Credit Card for the name on the will call list. Both names do not have to match if you are bringing a guest, but name on the purchase, must match at least one of the attendees on the will call list and you must provide an ID and Credit Card used for purchase.

If you are purchasing tickets from our tasting room, we will be asking for IDs and at least one out of two names you provide must match your ID. You cannot purchase two tickets for two different people other than yourself.

    **ALSO!**

In order to process everyone via will call in a timely fashion, we are suggesting that everyone lines up 1-2 hours before your session. The ideal situation would be that once the session begins, all attendees will be processed and everyone just walks right in and enjoys their session. This will hopefully reduce the possibility of attendees spending a portion of their session waiting to be checked in through will call.

    **ONE MORE ADDITION!**

We did mention no outside food or drinks. That is still the case, however, we will make an exception for outside food only if there is a specific dietary restriction.

Again, please let us know if there are any other questions about the process of obtaining tickets or operations for the event. Thank you!

I like what they did with the tickets, in addition to what they stated, hopefully it will also prevent people scalping tickets. But, line up 1-2 hours before your session? I get it, but I'm really starting to think this is going to be a "no thanks" for me.

I think that sounds worse than what they might mean. At Forever Summer (and sorry to keep saying that but only other ticketed event so far) we showed up an hour ahead of the session, walked right up and got our bracelets, then walked around to other places in Scott's Addition rather than just standing there in line. The idea being get checked in early, then the line to get in is just people showing the wristbands as they walk in. First in that "line" isn't really getting much ahead of the folks 100 back imo.

I'm not sure if the radio silence about Tuesday's can release is an anti-camping measure or if they really are overwhelmed with stuff.

I am inclined to think it's an "anti camping" move. It might be some combination of "we need a quiet weekend of draft sales or we'll run out" and "we have another perfect storm release of collab, gose, extra dry hopped shiny thing" - plus they might be waiting until they can some to see yield (they've got beer going down to Huna Day so that might have something to do with the calculus).

I've talked to staff before who say they don't exactly like having a huge line start so early and feel like the people clamoring for release info online are just trying to get their trades set up. If this is an attempt to curtail that, awesome, and first time they've done something like that I know of.

Part of me also thinks delaying the info builds the hype more with anticipation. I bet they aren't doing this to announce Lord Shredder and That Part.

Wonder if they will move to a Monkish process of announcing a release a couple of hours before hand.

I thought about both of these ideas when I saw their post over the weekend. I think a lot of it has to do with yields since if they are releasing what we think they will be then they really need to forecast how much is needed to not run out super early and Huna Day yet not have really low counts to upset those who are coming to this week's release. Then again maybe they are seeing if they could delay these until next week if something else is close to being ready and could go with something else. this week.

I really do like the idea of them not releasing info on the release until the day before or even a few hours early. Yeah, it will upset people who travel from over an hour away and having to coordinate their schedule but regardless of what they release we all know each week is pretty busy and they have been doing a really good job lately at selling out the same week. What could it hurt but just trying a few weeks with very little heads up on exactly what is releasing. Gotta try new things to see what works right?

    The answer is always marketing.

There's no chance that this is a sincere belief.

Sometimes, yeah. But I know that some retailers like Supreme in NYC don't announce major collabs until the day before the drop to further defer canpers. They've already banned camping at their NYC location but they still try hard to make sure there isn't absolute madness. The Veil isn't exactly the same but I think it makes sense to try and disrupt the hardcore traders who'll show up 3-5 hours ahead of time and nab all cans of a limited product.

Or what Trillium does, this would be fine with me. Now that they have their own canning line and aren't beholden to Dominion's calendar or regular availability I'd think they could can when they deemed a beer ready and have multiple smaller releases through the week.

Just passing on what was said in conversation. Not saying it represents everyone's opinion or the belief of The Veil as a whole.

Thinking about making the trip for the can release on the 14th. They will announce the cans available around the 12th? Is that correct?

As someone who comes in from over an hour away, it wouldn't upset me at all. I'd only be upset if I was either expected to wait in a line for a couple of hours or if they ran out before I was able to get some. I'd certainly be fine if they announced it only a few hours beforehand.

Agree 100%. And the chances that there would be as big of a line or that they'll run out is diminished (to what extent, who knows) by announcing closer to the release. There are people who can/will drop everything to get over there. But it'll cut down on the carloads that come up when limits are low and the handtruck hauls when limits are high.

I'd prefer if they announced at least the day before. I have to drive about 1.5 hours and need to know if I need to take off work to get down there.

My point is if they announce the day of, there should be less of a need to rush down. Plenty of releases have been lasting til almost the weekend (sometimes through the weekend) so the hope would be people could come after work and there's no line, nothing sold out, or the next day... there are simply more options for everyone in general if the cans last longer.

I don't think that's necessarily what they want, but it could have its benefits.

Ah ok. I guess I'm just not into the idea of potentially taking a gamble and getting off work to show up. Especially with limited and desired collabs or releases, my odds of getting them dwindle because locals will still be able to show up earlier than I'll be able to get down there.

Really? I don't see anything on IG, so I'm not sure if you're joking. I don't know why they would even make that beer, given that That Part was probably the worst-recieved beer they've made. It would be hilarious if they paired it with the Trillium collab though.
