I like Flecha Roja but I've never had it as espresso. I a back during black friday with the intention of making BCBCS with it. Ive had it cold brew, pour over, and french press with all methods offering a mellow but nice balanced roast. I just tried looking for it and couldn't find it anymore.

I talked to someone at the store a little while ago, he said it'd be available during the summer time. I really like Intelligentsia and think they have some of the best coffee on the market. I'm also a little biased as I've received my barista training with them.

So next Saturday there are two BA stout releases in the suburbs. Imperial Oak is releasing BA Udder Madness at noon and Hailstorm is doing BA Vanilla Vlad at 11 am. Anyone going to try and hit both like me? And can anyone tell me how crazy the releases at these two places are?

I was at one Imperial Oak release. It was well attended, well thought out, and smooth. Just like the Humungous I picked up that day.

Imperial Oak's bottle runs are usually in the 250-300 or so range. If it is a less popular style, bottles will last into the evening and sometimes into the next couple days.

This release is not only a stout, it is in conjunction with their St. Patrick's Day party. Bottles will probably be gone within half an hour.

They've been doing these releases once a month for a couple of years now. All of the kinks have been thoroughly worked out, to the point where most of the releases have donuts provided for those in line.

That said, if you just want to try it, they hold enough back so that the base barrel aged beer should be available all day on tap and whatever infusion they do with the base barrel aged beer should be available for several hours.

Meant to say, I had a Frootwood the other day and man was it bad. I was actually in the crowd that liked Lizard of Koz but Froot was a mess. I really did love the format though, good choice by Founders.

Had a Frootwood this weekend. It tasted like a Shirley Temple with Osco whiskey poured in.

    Terrible.

I showed up to the BA Coffee Vlad release 5 minutes before the release time, and I was in and out with my 5 bottles within 10 minutes. If that helps at all

This hit by me at Binny's and Friar Tucks in Champaign last Friday, so would imagine you should see it soon, if not already.
