Chicago Stout Releases (2018)

Check LZ binnys, I'm pretty sure this week sometime it will be out

 

Technically a blend of bourbon barrel aged Serpent's Stout and brandy barrel aged Angel's Share - Lost Abbey Deliverance showed up on shelves too. I'm fascinated to try that one...enough so that I paid the price for a LA 375ml corked and caged bottle!

 

Any chance High Westified is still hanging out anywhere in the NW burbs? Gonna be in the Lincolnshire area this weekend and would like to pick up a sixer if possible. PM if you know of a place! Thanks in advance!

They were sold out of High Westified when I got one of the last 2 Astronaut Status there last Thursday.

 

A couple of years trying to get someone from Tennessee to send one and it just appears quietly on the shelves here!
Go grab one one, it's pretty awesome. Terrific cinnamon and vanilla taste though fairly light barrel action.
Imagine Huna/Abraxas/Mexican Cake/Bomb minus the pepper and sometimes coffee kick.

I dig the spice too but this is a pleasant alternative. Starts with cinnamon and then heads left to vanilla beans. A super solid base stout underneath, well worth picking up a bottle. $11.99 at Binnys

 

Was hoping to grab some near Oak Brook. I'm assuming it should be here today or tomorrow if Capones received it. Thanks for the info!

 

Uncle Jacob's at Naperville Binny's, along with lots of Vanilla Bean Stout and **** Stache. Naperville Standard Market had Speedway Stout 16oz cans for $7.99 each (that's $31.96/4pk) and plenty of **** Stache too.
Just couldn't justify the Speedway purchase...was hoping they would be less $$ per oz in the can.

 

I got there around 3 or 4 and no line or traffic whatsoever. I asked how many we could buy and they responded "how many do you want?"

That said, as someone mentioned...omgvanilla so I would expect more demand.

 

I expect more of a demand for this one as well. That being said, I think I'm planning on hitting up Hailstorm for my allotment, then heading up to Mikerphone directly after to get my 2 bottles of ISLBS. I'm really hoping I can get both Saturday, since I don't plan on staying at Hailstorm at all

 

Did anybody else purchase and open a BA Ivan the Terrible? I just popped open the one I most recently bought, and it was absolutely infected. It sucks when something is an instant drain pour...

 

I had read multiple reviews on Untappd mentioning infection drain pours on this recent batch and bought an extra Coconut Jones instead. So, very plausible.

In the northern burbs for the weekend, mainly near Lincolnshire. Could anyone PM me some shops that still have bottles of Rare for sale nearby? (preferably ones that aren't gouging terribly if possible, not sure what it's going for right now)
