A $1.25 Yuengling Black and Tan in a classy plastic cup at my favorite dive bar. Killing some time after a short run as the dogs get groomed down the street.

Sparing no expense with the new market rollout and some killer neon signs! It's been close to a year since I last had it and I'm nostalgic that way. Happy Friday gang.....

I have a sister vacationing in Italy and France. She sent my wife pictures of the landscape and attractions. She sent me beer pics. Not sure if there is a message there. Anyway, I thought I would post the pics to BA to see if anyone has had the beer.

Thought you may find this interesting as it relates to Yuengling and Richmond, Va.

    Not just for breakfast . . .

    Score 3.89
    look: 3.5 | Aroma: 3.75 | taste: 4 | feel: 3.75 | overall: 4

Hazy yellow color with white cap and very good lacing.

Aroma of citrus (grapefruit) and resinous hops, bright, sharp, with a budding freshness.

Taste is hop forward on entry with citrus giving the opening trumpet volley. The citrus turns more into a zest/essential oil presence that elevates the flavor without launching into bitterness. There's malt in there but I'm having difficulty teasing out the malt flavor. A few more rounds and I might get it. I usually do my full reviews mid morning because that's when my palate is awake but not yet too influenced by coffee, food and whatever else I might consume during the course of the day. Even with a relatively fresh palate I'm not discerning the malt in this one. There is a resinous, piney note in the hop flavor that rides along but plays a minor role. Same flavor sensations in the aftertaste with a surprising lack of residual bitterness. I can't say I miss a malt presence in this brew because it's very well constructed as is.

Medium texture well balanced with carbonation. Slightly creamy.

Breakfast IPA? Why not. Obviously, Breakfast IPA is another term for Session IPA but I rather like the name. I've also found this one works well at lunch offsetting the richness of a bacon cheeseburger.

Thanks for sharing! They have quite a history and I feel compelled to support it. The beer is good for what it is.

Meant to ask, a couple of stores here used to carry a Yuengling product I think was called Lord Chesterfield. I have not seen it in awhile. Is it available in and around PA? If so, when I visit my sister in Effort, PA I will make it a point to get some.
