What's the deal with frambulous and dodie? I have one of each sitting in a cellar.

Nothing, those might have been the ones that were somehow oversold, even though they saw distro. Last Frambulous I opened was just fine, I never purchased any Dodie.

It is also the problem with lumping in the whole "could have been infected, oversold, something, aliens got it the supply, etc.." and then providing a list but not stating what belongs in which category.

Edit: I basically trust lists like that about as much as I trust Thrillist authors when they put out the next click-baity article of "the best beers as picked by experts".

There was a problem with Dodie (carb issue maybe? cant recall) and they stopped fulfilling them.

There was a problem with Dodie...the beer itself

I don't care for football either but do enjoy extolling the virtues of guac to you.

If I knew where you lived, and had more free time on my hands, and.. wasn't concerned about the potential legal ramifications, I would set up an elaborate guacamole booby trap for you, where a giant full-sized trash can full of fresh guac is dumped on your head from a tree or rooftop. and of course video tape it and upload it to beer advocate. as a show of love

I thought the problem was the beer tasting awful, but that was just me.

Hmmmm, that could be done but I tend to walk out from my garage instead of the front door, where a fairly large palm tree stands above. Or if you could convince Alesmith to set it up....I mean...that is my second home.

Agreed. Not knowing what's awaiting or has been picked up save word of mouth sucks. I happily have a better trustee now, or shall I say a more frequent one, but I can imagine the old system with a once in a while trustee, unless you print off everything immediately, email those copies, get them signed and dated, returned, then double check once the bottles arrive, you have very little way of knowing where it all is. Even with the new trustee I've had orders disappear and have to get handled later on, and I know it's irritating for them to have to triple check everything a dozen times. Plus, even the current orders on the site now don't last long before they drop off.

A few months ago I had a rep actually email me a PDF of every 2016 order, and I've been printing every one since. That's the best way to keep track.

Yeah, sorry I was asking if there was a separate problem from the general taste.

In 2017 the best way to keep track can't possibly involve a printer, can it?

I got google spreadsheet. One column w/ beer name, one column w/ quantity ordered, one column w/ quantity picked up. Google sheets app on my phone means I can access at anytime and dont have to bring print outs to pick things up.

By the way, what the hell does "oversold" mean?

I get it if they're physically running out of bottles, but my one experience with something being oversold was when I got a bottle of 100% barrel-aged Cuir in a special sale. Went to pick it up months later they said it was oversold and replaced it with BA 2 Turtle Doves. I think I would rather have had the Cuir, but c'est la vie.

Until...several months later, in another special sale, 100% BA Cuir pops up again. WTF, if there's enough to sell more of later then why couldn't I have gotten the bottle I purchased?

The Offshoot Beer Co. opt in that's in your allocations will end this Sunday. It won't pop up again. Members who "purchase" it will be brought to the front of the Offshoot Beer Co. line for access to Offshoot beers.

That'd be nice if there was a hazy opt in and a non haze opt in, afraid of getting pushed back of the line if I don't buy a style I am not a fan of.

If I read the email correctly, you're just signing up to say that you are interested. It doesn't cost you anything. You then get first choice as cans are released. You buy what you want and don't buy what you don't want. The only down side is if you pass multiple times consecutively, and I assume that means you don't buy anything at all, you may be removed from the priority list.

Whether it's a problem or not depends on what multiple times means. Kind of annoying that you could potentially lose priority by skipping two releases.

More than that, I'm in L.A., so while i CAN get down there once a week if I need to, I'd rather hold off and just order when I already know I'm going to be down that way during the week/weekend (which I am every month or two).

Especially for the out of towners that'll have to wait for the shipping situation to get sorted out before being able to buy some
