So I decided to look up a few review of CC core year round beers. There has been some claims saying that none of the rest of their year round beers come close to Jai Alai. Never the less I am still curious to try their Brown Ale plus I need something to break up my fridge which is currently full of Juice bombs.

Ahhh.. I did doubt that we would be getting the Tampa stuff up here. Now this opens up the whole can of worms of wether or not Oskar Blues canned Jai Alai compares to Tampa Ja Alai. And did you try the beer yet?

Yes I had 1 last night. Honestly my first thought was that it tasted better than a Tampa batch I had bought in ny 2 months ago. Both were right around 2 weeks old. So that is a good sign at least

Im glad the canning dates are recent. I love the stuff down in FL but when it was in PA only it was never fresh enough. After a month it really falls off.

Its not fair to say you are spoiled by NJ beer however, as Jai Alai is different style IPA than what many of out local breweries make. Its more bitter that overly juicy stuff that is coming out now and that is damn refreshing!!! Down with the juice!

I saw a sixtel of Invasion delivered to Clayton Liquors this afternoon, so it's definitely seeing distro in NJ. Also saw multiple kegs of singlecut half stack and 18 watt, along with a bunch of almanac sours in bottles and lots of new kegs from Three 3's, which is a brewery that has been killing it recently in the IPA department. My guess is the above mentioned kegs are going to be tapped for fills, but their prices are always pretty reasonable.

Raj (the owner) is a great dude and is always working to bring in new stuff I don't see elsewhere, and their growler / crowler list always has something great on it to take home. If you haven't been there before, I highly recommend a stop. They are on Beermenus and they update it daily.

I can understand how some analogize Cigar City to New Belgium, or to Devils Backbone, which recently started distributing in NJ. Taste for beer is certainly subjective. There's just something about Jai Alai that is different from every other IPA I've had. I really enjoy it in the summer and I'm glad I won't have to drive to Rockland or Orange County anymore to buy it. I'm spoiled by our local IPAs, as well but nobody in New Jersey brews one quite like Jai Alai. I'll still go to releases almost every weekend but it's nice to be able to buy something I like locally - as long as it's reasonably fresh. I also really like Maduro and the various versions of Marshal Zhukov I've had.

I am still bit lukewarm about the thing, I could and did get Jai Alai and the white-oak aged Jai Alai from just across the border in NY multiple times. But the can they brought to my local store was 3 weeks old. I'll still buy that.

Agreed. A 3 week jai alai is till better than most ipas you can get on the shelf easily. If they can keep this freshness going def something to look at. Especially times where you stop at a store on the way to somewhere and they may not have the best selection. Jai alai viable option

I just had one of those 3/16 Jai Alai's tonight and it was bomb. Tasted like a slightly more bitter Sip of Sunshine, no joke. Very very surprised by how good it was.

i'm pretty happy about this. i've had Cigar City beers before and greatly enjoyed Jai Alai, the other beers were just ok. i'll be picking up Jai Alai and their big stouts + their imperial pumpkin.

once NJ gets Bell's i'll be entirely satisfied. i used to go into PA for Firestone Walker, Bear Republic, Cigar City and Bell's. now NJ easily gets the first 2.

now that Jai Alai will be easy to get i'm just waiting for Two Hearted & company

I just picked up a six-pack yesterday, brewed at Oskar Blues in NC and canned 3/16. It was great! Just as good as the fresh stuff I drink when I go down to FL.

$10.99 at Total Wine West Orange. And I noticed the orange paktech were not on the cans like they used to be, wondering if they did away with that for cost purposes.

Jai Alai White Oak purchased at Whole Foods downtown NYC, hopefully will show up in NJ! (Only seen regular in NJ.) Canned 3/17. My first one ever. DAMN it's smooth, I could drink this quite regularly... but downside is it was $18.99 for 4 12 oz. cans. Dayummm!

I saw them two weeks ago in the orange paktech in Ft Lauderdale. Also, I'm hearing some places are selling 4-packs of Jai Alai instead of 6.
