I wouldn't say the KBS is flowing like water, but I stumbled across some while trying to find some more Bocks (which I think is equally as difficult to find) in a place that has never had any, and my buddy's shop is getting twice as much. All kind of expected with their last expansion up there, but I chuckled when I read the label though. 11.8%

On a related note, where do I go in Cbus now for the best singles and imports selection now that The Andersons isn't an option?

Crafted Drafts has been my go-to since the Andersons news.

KBS has been super easy to find in Columbus this year.

I was able to get a full 4-pack of kbs in one stop which has taken several stops the last few years, so there is definitely more this time around.

I love how Waldo's comes out around this time because KBS takes the heat off it and makes it so much easier to snag than it should be.

We've been getting bombarded with calls, people stopping by and Facebook messages since Monday of this week! Mostly people I've never seen in the store ever before or just the assholes I only see when something limited hits the area and they probably run to every bottleshop/grocery store they can.

Well sir we are going to have to agree to disagree about KBS being consistent. I can't remember one year where it's tasted like the same beer. It's either a ton of coffee or a ton of chocolate, or too boozy or too oak forward or something. I don't think I've ever had a KBS experience where I'd say it's consistent, but that's ok.

One is an asshole for showing up to a bottle shop for limited releases only? I wonder, how often one must buy non-limited beer from a bottle shop to not be an asshole?

As a matter of fact they are. Bottle shops only get limited releases based on regular beer sales so people that don't contribute to that and only want limited stuff and never shop there otherwise are a pain in the ass. Pretty simple.

Honest question... KBS allotments... are they based upon Founder's sales or whole-store sales?

Side note-- I saw a shop in Columbus trying to sell KBS singles in a four pack with Redankulous, Devil Dancer, and Imperial stout for $21. LOL! Selling fallen-off beers (I think they were released last summer if I remember correctly) with KBS to gouge the customer. I won't put the shop on blast here, but screw those guys... KBS is available literally all over cbus.

It is based off your Founders sales numbers only. Every limited release is like that now. Want a Prairie limited beer? Better sell more Prairie! Want a limited Boulevard beer? Better sell more Boulevard. Etc, etc. And yeah, that 4-pack with other beers is a joke! The distributing company will take old beer back so not sure why the store kept them.

IMO opinion the only person that is a a hole is someone that would follow a truck around. Or say if someone never went to circle a ever and was waiting for a truck to show up. But besides that I think it's all fair game. I like good beer not crap beer so if I have to go to a store I hardly ever go to and buy it I will. But overall I have a handful of stores I go to pretty much ever week some more some less really just for fun mostly but sometimes I only will buy the good stuff and I will just buy what I like. I'm not gonna buy some garbage to make the store owner happy. Also sometime I may walk into a store and just buy one bottle of something really good becaus I don't need anymore beer I have plenty at home but I am at the store so I will just get one of something good

It without a doubt pays to be a loyal customer but if something is super limited you do have to go elsewhere if you want more than a bottle or two

The thing is, there are probably at least 3-4 ba beers always avilable that are as good or better than KBS.

Also, limited/rare beer often gets confused with good beer. As a drunk of over 30 years, I know there is very little, if any correlation there.

Maybe most new callers / shoppers are hoarders trying to get a lot of something, but this hurts the other guy that doesn't drink a shit ton every week stocking points in some mysterious loyalty program. I steer away from this myself, meaning, you've lost my business to someone else. Nice attitude.

I was thinking of stopping into your store for a half growler of that Millersburg Maple Stout this weekend but now I am thinking perhaps I am not welcome since I am not a regular and this is a limited release. I live 20 minutes away, so it makes no sense for this store to be a regular stop for me.

I have zero problem with stores holding stuff for their regular guys and being a little annoyed when guys they have never seen before come in for limited releases. However, your attitude here is a bit off-putting, IMO.

I got a 4 pack at Giant Eagle Market District, Palmer's, House of Wine and Lizardville...All of them except Palmer's (No limit) were 1 4pk OR 1 bomber limit...so there are plenty of places allowing you to buy a 4 pack...

Maybe I should trade some Ohio beer for some Wisconsin cheese to go along with all of this whine...

It doesn't make the person an asshole, it makes them selfish. But honestly, life isn't fair, and there are plenty of other beers out there that are just chilling on a shelf waiting to be drank that are equally as good, if not better, than the ones that everyone is popping an eye vessel over.

Relax, drink a beer, and abide, dude.

I'd prefer you trade it for some Central Waters and New Glarus and that we then hang out and drink your newly acquired treats. But that's just my own selfish desire.

Anyone heard any target/rough opening date for Fat Heads Canton? I thought they said spring after the ballot passed.
