Alright, fuck it, @butters_mcgee . I decided to drink and review a Simcoe Double after all. As you can see in the photo, it's more of a golden-amber color and is quite clear. It's not as hazy, juicy, or creamy as the past few batches of Double, or the annual IPA series. However, it is very well made, as it is crisp, clean, dry, highly carbonated, and showcases Simcoe flavors very nicely. There's tons of catty dankness, lemon, grapefruit, pineapple, white peach, honeydew melon, gooseberry, passion fruit, and white tea notes. I'm guessing the malt is either pale 2-row or pilsner, as it is very light and crackery and barely sweet at all. This beer is actually dangerously drinkable; crushable even. So, overall, I am really enjoying it.

Needed a night cap. Man, I love this oatmeal stout. I love oatmeal stouts in general these days. Rich brown bread with coffee and chocolate. It hits the spot on this cold, rainy night in upstate NY.
