I'm going to be in Cincinnati/Convington area next month. Gonna try and hit as many breweries as possible but if I get pressed for time and can't make everything are there any breweries/beers I should prioritize?

The locals can give better advice, but based on best beer across the board, I would say Mad Tree. Especially wih their new taproom. Heard it's impressive. As a frequent visitor, will say that Urban Artifact is probably next on my hit list. Make sure to hit the Party Source though if you want to take stuff home.

Madtree is pretty cool, big space, good pizza, always packed very popular. I would also recommend Woodburn, Blank Slate and Streetside (these are more low key atmosphere compared to Madtree). If you're going to be in Covington area Braxton is right there as well as Kung Food Chu's Amerasia, popular hole-in-the-wall restaurant with good beer selection.

Madtree is definitely on the for sure list.

Braxton Is on the for sure list as well since I saw its dog friendly and we'll have ours along on the trip.

Urban Artifact and Woodburn both look like they have good beer selections too.

And I've definitely heard of UA before as well, though I haven't had any of their stuff. Looks like they have a good selection of sours and gose and those are right up my alley.

Always love hitting up a new city. So many options.

    Thanks guys.

Also hitting Rheingeist out of convenience since our AirBnB is in walking distance.

Make sure you check out the rooftop at Rhinegeist if it is open when you go there. Also Taft's Ale House is not that far from Rhinegeist and has some good beer and food but I am not sure if they allow dogs. The Party Source in Newport is probably the closest place to where you are staying with a large selection for carry out. If you go to UA try the Palmistry and Squeezebox both of those are awesome IMO.

FYI.. neither Taft's nor Rhinegeist allow dogs.

If you can leave the dog at the place you're staying, I'd definitely recommend Taft's...one of my favorite places in town.

@tcorder219 I remember you mentioned a retooling of a few beers in the CBC lineup. Has Lucy changed at all? I'll buy either way... just interested.

Not in any major way. Same yeast. Pretty much same malt bill. Hops are slightly different and a larger volume per bbl. Citra Mosaic driven this go 'round.

They all seem to run behind schedule. I originally heard spring for the Canton location. Guess they didn't say which spring

All I'll say is... make sure your "walk" is complete before dusk. Rhinegeist AND Taft's.

Everyone has given great advice thus far. I'll just add:
Sounds like you'll be close to Findlay Market as well. There's a pretty good beer store there- it's called Market Wines. Not a huge selection, but they get most all of the limited stuff. If you hit this and the aforementioned Party Source just across the river, you'll find all you need.

I'll agree that this is good advice. That being said, I've walked all the way from The Eagle to Rhinegeist after dark, and I'm still alive

At least this is post-OTR Rejuvenation. If this was pre - well, you probably wouldn't be alive to post!

Fifth Anniversary of the Cleveland Heights BottleHouse today. Two new bottled meads will be introduced but no new beers, although they're suggesting that might happen later in the month.

They're bottling Humboldt Fog which, while not new, is the first time in bottles. That was pretty tasty, but I can't get over how much I love Syklist and Nordic Coast. I don't know if it's the yeast they use or what, but they taste like straight grapefruit juice to me.

Humboldt Fog is the greatest cheese ever, does the beer live up to the cheese?
