Oh for sure! I definitely see it happen all the time. Premium does it, Superior does it, etc.

Does BottleHouse distribute? Would the Heinen's in DT Cleveland have any of their beer?

I don't think they distribute anything. I'm pretty sure they just started bottling some of their bigger beers in the last few months. In all honesty, I never even heard of this place until someone mentioned it here about a month back... but man am I glad I did.

They have distributed to Heinen's and Wine Spot before. I am not sure if the Heinens DT would have any right now.

BH did distro to Heinens about 2 years ago but now their bottles are only at the Lakewood and CLE Hts breweries.

Yes, when BH was getting started they'd sporadically drop off some bottles ro Warehouse Beverage but stopped that a while back.

Btw, I keep hearing about a lot of really small neighborhood breweries that have popped up in Ohio City. Are any of them worth checking out (not talking about Platform, Great Lakes or Market Gardens in case I've been misled by non beer geeks who were talking about them without identifying them)?

I went to Nano Brew and didn't really care for it. Too many cool spots nearby to recommend that one for the time being.

B&B is pretty great. Forest City not so much in my experience.

Cincinnati peeps - How does 2017 Blue Melvin stack up against the fabled first batch? @meanmutt I think I recall you being a big fan of the OG version?

The 2017 batch is an enjoyable beer, and I'm glad the wife and I got bottles. That being said, there is less blueberry presence in this batch. Also, they upped the ABV to 11% this time, and it is definitely noticeable in the taste.

Hopefully they will do this beer again in the future and strike gold like they did with batch 1.

Edit: They did a great job on the blueberry scented wax. Smells even better than last time .

Hello folks. I'm in Columbus (from Bay Area) till tomorrow afternoon and was hoping to get some input from y'all. I've visited Hoof, Wolf's Ridge, Seventh Son, and Land-Grant. I was hoping someone could point me to a good bottle shop in the area that may have some localish beers (with a preference for barrel-aged) I could take back with me. I really enjoyed the Mexicanus variant of Dire Wolf if that helps at all. Thanks!

    Best options are likely:

    Weiland's
    Crafted Drafts
    Kenny Road Market

Thanks! Weiland's and Kenny Road aren't far from where I'm staying in Dublin. Any particular beers of note that I should look out for?

If you visit Weiland's (they may have specialties behind the counter), then Savor is another option down the street. And if you have time for lunch/dinner, then check out the Crest on Indianola as well. They usually have a top notch tap list.
