    Good afternoon BAs!
I got me some New Beer!! Yay, how exciting to welcome the Ithaca Brewing Co to Maine.
I saw a very fresh 12 pack and couldn't not buy it. Can date of 5/13/17.
Flower power: balanced Midwest style IPA with 5 hops and dry hopped 5 different times during brewing process.
Wow. It's everything it promises to be. Punchy: check : it has a great piney, floral and grapefruit bite
    Soothing: good bready Malts backbone.
    Refreshing and balanced.
Great new beer and please keep it coming fresh like this!!
@utopiajane finally I taste something from your neck of the woods!! Pine woods.
    Cheers.

The recent shelfies thread stimulated me to grab a mixed handful of stuff yesterday . . .

Beautiful clear gold color with white cap and good lacing.

Aroma is very piney, citrusy, hop forward.

Taste is hop forward with malt apparent more in the body than flavor. Malt is there but it's an underlayer. The brew doesn't strike me as very complex but it does have great balance. Clean but long, and I mean long, lingering bitter hop aftertaste.

Overal at 8.1% and 95 IBUs one expects a blockbuster. This one's big, even brawny, but lacking in finesse. The trailer truck load of hops dominate the flavor almost to exclusion of the malt. This is a brew for hop fanciers or those who want to see what a big hop brew is about. My rating is not as high because I find this one similar to a lot of IPAs, just with more stuffing. More of everything without actually being more flavorful.

Matt's Burning Rosids. An occasional Imperial Cherrywood-Smoked Saison from Stone. Had it before some time ago. I realy like it. It is smoked, but not with a heavy smoke taste like in a German Rauchbier.
Bit high on alcohol with 10,5%, but in balance with the taste. Keeping the second part for a nightcap later this evening.
    Cheers!

I have to redo my taste test. Just to double check, for the sake of science, of course!!
I have to say I find it very similar, especially in aftertaste, to Bells Two Hearted Ale.
That surely fills the void for this style of IPA in Maine.
    Cheers.

Enjoying a quiet moment in the woods with my local favorite before getting back to the garage purge. It's always exciting when the poppies finally bloom. A beautiful sight if only for a couple of weeks.:slight_frown:

Such a tragedy. A really poor round of golf, followed by the disappointment of no Torpedo in the grille (even though they promised me two weeks ago that they'd get it). I had to make do with Redhook Longhammer, not even close to Torpedo.

Home now, paying bills (another onerous chore) and drinking S.W.A.G.
Oh, and my new cookbook arrived!
