Short's Brewing Releases & Updates (2018)

I wish there was a Busch's near me. Citra Locals sounds like it'd be a perfect summer crusher to go along with PC Pils.

 

Dunno how close you are to Bellaire, but there was a pallet at the production facility marked for Short's Mart. Checking the website, it looks like it's on sale now.

 

Not very... We do make several trips up to Bellaire this time of year so hopefully one of them will be soon.

 

I also heard that everyone who voted for I got 5 on it likes to "take sacks to the face, whenever they can, dont need no crutch they're so keyed up"

All jokes aside, Im drinking one now and its not a bad beer at all. Still cant taste the pineapple and its like no other pilsner that I have had before.

 

Cant wait for Exeter.

Also, good job Luke on the the I got 5 on it. Even though I wanted the Pineapple Pilsner, I love the Luniz song and I'm my 2nd one of the night and it just keeps getting better! Thanks for all the hard work you guys put into bringing us many quality brews.

 

What the heck happened to Melt My Brain? This is not the same beer that I bought 2 cases of last year. No lime. Nothing resembling tonic water. Somebody earlier said ot tasted like a wheat beer and I agree. It's a coriander wheat beer. Meh...

 

I accidentally crushed 7 of em while grilling and campfiring today in a relatively short period of time. I only bought two sixers today while at the pub so I might need to make another visit happen this week. Bourbon Bellaire Brown was on as well as another NE IPA that I thought was a tad better than Slurm. I brought a crowler of it home to make sure though.

 

Was it Step Into the Haze? I kinda wish that had seen a bottle release.

Its almost like second runnings of nicie . . . . not to hate on it or anything tho... its solid ! I swear I remember more lime and piney bite like a watered down shot of tanqueray . . I love me a gin and tonic.

 

Huh. I've had two this weekend and got plenty of lime/tonic character. Maybe it was a different batch, I don't know.

Yeah, its quite yummy. A very solid NE style IPA offering. On another note, I drank all my Citra Locals this weekend and I'm not sure I want to drive out to Bellaire from TC. Do you know if they will have any for sale at the Elk Rapids facility for their pull barn events this week?

 

Is Magic Eye brewery only? Local only? Michigan only?

 

Agree it is a different beer. Definitely missing some of the heavy lime presence it had last year. I still like it though, seemingly more balanced now (as the lime made it pretty acidic and a case of heartburn waiting to happen).

 

While I don't think it tastes like a coriander wheat beer, I did find myself wondering if it was the beer or my tastebuds that had changed since last year. I got lime, but not the same lime bomb as I remember.

I agree with @AnchorDrops - still a good beer, but just not quite what I expected.

 

It was on tap at the pub and I got a crowler. Thats the only place they offer it at the moment I believe.
