Long ass wait until the game tonight, the advantage pro sports allows the West to have over the East is absolute horse shit, especially when almost all of the home games in the East are also 9PM EST. Studies on the winning ratios for late NFL West vs. East games alone should be enough to put an end to this. Speaking of, this IPL is by East Coast breweries, yes it tastes more West Coast than anything.

 

Late night of work for the wife. I'm flying solo. I've got the twins fed and bathed. Chillin until bedtime with this one.

This has a similar aroma and flavor profile to another world-class American (i.e. hoppy) Imperial Stout: Yeti (Great Divide). A bit thinner in the mouthfeel department (which arguably increases its drinkability) and a more assertive presence of roasted malts, it seems that Mr. Kimmich accomplished his mission...(judicious use of hops and supreme drinkability).
Personally, I will give the edge to Great Divide.

Ok, went for walk/jog around lake and when I say it was painful, I mean that literally (not just that it was a struggle, which it was). Met my very non-lofty goal of getting to beer just after 6pm.


My first ever actual shower beer! It was about a year and a half old, but bitter raspberry sida worked for me. That said, onto the real thing:


Really could do without the vanilla in these things, but the mango is really good. Aslin fruit beer/IPA thing called Johann the Mango Thief.

 

I'm back for another after a few bottles of water and a needed nap. A beautiful evening on the patio until the mosquitoes come out. Cheers until then!
