I enjoy the lines, it isn't about being first, it's about being able to chill with people that talk beer and there are a few decent breakfast places around with coffee. I don't have many close friends that enjoy beer the way you all do or most people in these lines do. I've met some good friends through bottle lines and I hope to meet more.

Can't really argue with you there as I have become good friends with several people I have met in Cycle Bottle Lines over the years..

GranMule is ok..it was her first time there and she was trying to do her son a favor..the worst is that homeless looking family of 3 at every Cycle Release that includes the 90+ Year Old Dude with The Walker..they are at every release stacking the line..getting back in line..letting their friends cut in with them..etc..I wish Doug and Charlie would refuse to sell to them as they are clearly Resellers

Huna Day there was a rumor floating around that Cycle was going to release a bottle that Sunday. My buddy and I were staying a few blocks away from Cycle. We figured we would go to breakfast at the Dome and see what was up. There was an old couple late 60's easy. In chairs at about 730 right in front. Was kind of funny. They left as we were eating on the patio. Wonder if they were mules or drinkers.

The barrels are not cheap and now more scarce with the vanilla bean shortage.

I apologize if this has been asked before, but typically how long does cycle age their BA stouts? I know this can vary, but just looking for a typical avg length of time for some of the recent releases. It does not appear they put time on the labels or indicate when they post release details. Thanks in advance.

May not be typical but 18th Street Collab released this month was in the Barrel for a little over 9 months based on this Cycle Photo

I would say the avg time is however long the beer takes to taste complete in their tastes. I'm sure they have a routine to pull nails and when the beer tastes right then pull the appropriate barrels to blend and finish. Don't know their process but that typically is how I've seen some others do it. The taste lets you know if its done or needs another week, 2 weeks, month, 2 months, etc.

Thank you for the reply. I guessed it would be less than a year since breweries usually advertise when it's an extensive length of time (over a year).
While yes that is true, they must have a typical range in order to have all their weekly sets released simultaneously.

So I'm gonna be in town from Ohio for Friday only. If I could only hit ONE between Cycle,CCB,Angry Chair, or others, what's the best place to get a "Wow" beer. I know lots of places will have good stuff, but I just wanna find at least one memorable beer on draft before I head home.

IMO, Angry Chair. They just released "Bung Head" and "Bung Head w/Coffee", which sound fantastic as a BA Imperial sweet stout.

    Thanks!

I should add I guess that we're staying on Anna Maria island Thursday for a wedding, then heading up toward Tampa. Also, I love just about any style and my girlfriend loves BBA Stouts.

Since you are going to be headed through St Pete via Anna Maria island I would recommend hitting Cycle, especially since they still have a bunch of their recent BA releases on draft. If you still have time go to Angry Chair in Tampa.
