I'll be up in three weeks for my regular annual visit. Time is flying fast and I'm pretty excited. Best thing is even my in-laws love to go even though they don't drink, because of the mac and cheese and pizza.

I'm happy for the success they are having at the brewpub but I do miss the old days of being able to get in easily and find a table without waiting in the evening. Granted we are almost always vacationing there over the 4th which is probably the busiest time of the year, but the hour waits every single evening last year was eye opening to how much things have changed especially after expanding the property. It's actually why I'm somewhat relieved not to be there over the 4th this year. I could eat a White Pepper every single day that I'm up there.

White Pepper is the best sandwich. And I thought the same thing last year. Happy for the success, but I remember being able to find an empty space on a couch (on a Friday or Saturday evening!) with the family when the pub was a third of the size it is now. I went up in early May and there was no waiting at all. I may become an off-season tourist.

Power of Love being packaged today!

Try a Squish My Brain, too- Squishy + Melt My Brain. I know it's a cider, but it's a phenomenal batch and works well with the beer, in my opinion.

Melt My Brain seems to work well as a mixer. I just tried some Melt My Brain and Short's Cake and it is fantastic! I'll report back later after I try some Melt My Brain with Exeter.

I'm kinda surprised we haven't seen a summer variety pack of shandys. I think there's four now, right? Power, Rosie, Short's, and Soft Parade, if I'm not mistaken. Maybe next year?

Still haven't seen the latest mixed 12er in the Yoop. Does it have something to do with Meijer (at least the one in Escanaba) seemingly buying way too much of the last one and it not moving?

At least Michigantuan and Exeter hit here this week. The former is tasty but haven't had Exeter yet.

Heh. The local Kroger had the new variety pack out, but hidden behind a couple of the previous one. Local Meijer has it set up that same way, was just there a few hours ago.
Bottom line: if you don't find one soon, meet me in Bellaire in a couple weeks with a sixer each of UPA and Laughing Fish. I'll hook you up

New announcement up on the website and it's a curious thing:

I felt fortunate enough to have had this one shortly after its Anni party release, since a few friends who know my love of Short's brews were in the area the week after and brought me a growler as a gift. I am (un) ashamed to say I drank the whole thing in one sitting on a unseasonably hot May afternoon. It's crisp, refreshing, and a tossing back a few won't knock you on your ass.

Had a Michigantuan over the weekend...I was pleasantly surprised. I found it more of a fruit beer than a double IPA, but it was pleasant & easy to drink.

Nice to see Power of Love Making a return again this year, enjoyed it last year quite a bit. Was able to try Soft Parade Shandy today, both my wife and I found it super refreshing and easy to drink. Would like to see this packaged and in distribution.

    Two quick little things:

    1) I'm putting in a guess that Alien Einstein is going to join Spruce and Pineapple in the variety pack. Not a hard guess, since it was on the release schedule but was pulled.

    2) Speaking of the release schedule, I would draw your attention to Hazy ControversiALE, now on schedule for August.

My local Kroger has taken to breaking up the variety packs for sale as mixed sixers. Because you're a bunch of awesome folks, I felt I had to tell you right now at 5 and Merriman you can make yourself a six pack of Superfluid for 9.99.

I got myself some more Totally Noche (really liking that one) and MMB to keep the wife happy.

Thanks for the heads up!! Just grabbed some. Superfluid may be my favorite Short's brew. Definitely top 3...
