Zeelander is very underrated...or is it underhyped?

Honestly, I've never had a less-than-stellar IPA or Pale Ale by TG that came in bomber format. I expect I'd love Hopsmack as well.

This batch of Zeelander is excellent. It's definitely an under-hyped beer. I don't know if people just don't go for the Nelson hop as much, but I distinctly remember my first glass of Zee. I'd never tasted anything quite like it.

I never cared for the earlier (2012?) iterations of Hopsmack, but ever since they brought it to the bomber format, I've found it stellar.

It's kind of like Biter in reverse (the original version of that beer was great, the recent reincarnation sucked).

Hopsmack is not always the same beer.

With the use of Nelson this time around it could be that palate hatred of Nelson hops...

So are we still radio silence on the MD lottery that was teased a couple weeks ago?

Maybe you're new here... this is standard marketing/hyping up a release for TG. It usually takes at least 5-6 tweets showing wax, label, "this batch is #fire", retweeting some fanboys in Europe, etc before any real information is given out.

He's not new and he's pretty knowledgeable. I'm curious as well when TG will when open the lottery up as well.

What's the best way to get notified of the lottery? Is it done by twitter (so I need to create an account and set alerts or something), or watch my email for "updates", or?

I am new here (from the perspective of TG specifically).

They'll tweet it out, but I'm sure people will post here as well. There should be plenty of time to prep since TG loves to hype up their releases more than a high school boy at prom.

Not sure on the MD release, but we should be hearing the Vintage Club details sometime in April!

Remembwr recent draft only Biter was contract brewed by Wisconsin Brewing Co so not truly TG's beer IMO

Has it been confirmed that the recent Pompeii draft is also contract brewed? That was the rumor anyway

If that's the case, they should be doing all their contract brewing through Wisconsin Brewing. I've yet to have a Pompeii that was anything less than stellar.

Pompeii draft sent through distro was definitely WBC. Though Murph told us that Mike went out to Verona and brewed it on their system.

If that's a feasible option, they should cut ties with BrewHub and double down on Wisconsin.

There is absolutely no difference in quality between that Wisconsin brewed Pompeii and the product I'm used to. I tend to think the complaints about BrewHub are excessive, but it's clearly a different product. This isn't.

Biter had TG's name on it, so it's definitely a reflection on them that the beer was terrible. I actually thought I'd been handed the wrong beer the first time I tried it. Nothing like anything TG has ever put out.

Did you try the WBC draft Pompeii though? I thought it had a nice aroma but faded quickly and did not have the body or flavor I expect from Pompeii or TG in general.
