Grabbed two growlers earlier today before hightailing it back to NWI. Will have to get to the release for sure.

Noon Whistle is really starting to dial it in with these. Squishy and Banter are excellent.

How is the carbonation level on those?

Perfect, in my opinion. It creates a very soft mouth feel that was lacking in their earlier offerings.

Am I the only person that did not like Radio Swan? To be fair, I tend not to like rye beers or beers that use rye in the malt bill - and I just did not care for the interplay of the NE style fruity flavors with the spicy rye. Not saying its not a well crafted beer. I just have seen universal praise on here and I was wondering if anyone else had felt the way I did.

It's my number one hoppy beer from the Chi this year so I am all aboard the Radio Swan Hype Train...

I'm with you on not liking Rye beers - however, I loved Radio Swan. I felt the rye character was really minimal for me, or was at least overpowered by the hops and sweetness.

I feel the opposite. As I've said many times, I think many of the region's NEIPAs are a bit overhyped, as personally I prefer more bitterness. But the rye in RS adds a slight spice that adds an element in lieu of the low bitterness. I really enjoyed it, and probably my favorite of the style from FR.

Anyone try Metal Monkey's "My future's so bright I gotta drink haze"? Thinking of stopping up there for a howler fill.

VHII is nailed, imo. Loved the first and II delivers as well. I really appreciate Corridor's hop combos, they seem to have their additions dialed in. I typically get blown away by simcoe when it's used in this style, but it provides just the right amount of dank for all the overripe fruit I get in VHII. It's not super heavy but still has that subtle lingering sweetness on the backend that makes this style for me. 6.5% seems to be my wheelhouse for this style.

You may indeed be the only one . I loved the heck out of it and generally do not like rye stouts, so I was kind of surprised.

Also, had Ghost Tropic today at lunch and thought it was right up there with Radio Swan, Squeezit V1 and Van Hazen V2 for the best Chicagoland NEIPAs I've had thus far. Little surprised based off of the early reactions to it but maybe the week or so it's been on have done it some good.

Anyone tried any of the new Mikkeler San Diego NE IPAs that are starting to hit the area? I grabbed a 4-pack each of Windy Hill and Simcoe Eyes. Will report back later on how they are.
