Perhaps they are thinking about bottling it and want to see if it can survive shelf life for 6 weeks without reviews turning bad? Does seem a bit odd to hide a hop whale that long.

Damn, we were going there for lunch yesterday. With only 3 people waiting outside, and 2 visible, open tables we were still told an hour and 30 minutes for a wait. We should've stayed...

2 cases of Dank Meme at Grand Binnys. Had one yesterday and it was tasting even better than when first canned.. for 9 bucks and low ABV it's perfect for today

As much as I would like to believe this was a measured test...the more likely scenario is that they are working their way through the leftover guest drafts from DLD.

    Beer update:

Ghost Tropic is starting to settle down. The "greeness" is still present in the aroma, not as much in the flavor...but it's still there. Hop combo will not be repeated.

    Coming soon:
Atomic Child* (aka Death by Snu Snu) - IPA w/ white grape 7% (should be on tap by 7/8)

Very similar to the 1st batch of Snu Snu but I've used all the tricks learned since we last brewed it. So, it's better in every way. Brewed with Citra, Mosaic and Orbit (NZ blend).

    Aroma:
BIG, dank, slightly tropical and a touch of delicate floral from the grape.

    Flavor/mouthfeel/bitterness:
1st hit delivers as the aroma suggests. No surprises. Slightly sweet and very smooth. It fades fast and moves right into the wine-y characters of the grape. Leaves you with a bouncy complexity that is new/exciting. Finish is ultimately dry (but it takes you a little bit longer to get there). Bitterness is in balance. It melds well with the dry sensations of the wine finish.

It's an awesome beer to have in the line-up. So far, the can lineup looks like Snooch, Radio, Atomic Child, TBD, TBD before the EOY. There will be re-brews (these are not one & done). Trying to get to a every 2-week cadence.

*name was changed to line up with the title of the art piece we're using for the can art. Yes, this one will be canned late this summer.

    Atomic Child art preview:

I'm digging the can art. Looks unique and interesting...actually, now that I'm thinking about it, I'm digging artist forward cans in general. Who is doing the can art for Forbidden Root?

Was in Forbidden Root again yesterday. This time my pour of Ghost Tropic looked beautiful - perfect orange gold fruit juice color and tasted incredible with a great mouth feel. Really enjoyed it. On a side note, I know it doesn't belong in this thread, but as there isn't a Forbidden Root thread at the moment, thought I should mention the Faux Ami dry hopped grisette is so fucking good.

Josh Noel put out another fun article in the Chicago Trib called:
How I learned to stop worrying and love hazy IPA — some hazy IPA
Worth reading, I didn't link because I hit my "quota" of free articles so it takes me to the subscribers page, but you can probably google it. Great insight with interview of BJP, and the gents from Corridor.

The new cans (Radio, Atomic, etc) use the art of Tony Fitzpatrick. Everything before was done by Randy Mosher.

Snoochie Boochies is going to be ported over to Tony's work...coming 1st week in August...here's the new Snoochie art.

More brewing grand opening the weekend of July 15th-16th, per facebook post. More details to follow regarding draft and to go options but this is wonderful news. We are all curious to see what Shawn will be pumping out and if the consistency from his brews at Ram remains, or perhaps more likely, improved.

I see what you did there.

I feel like I'm in the minority for being excited about that saison he brewed first - it's the perfect summer beer style for me. I had a rosemary and lemongrass saison at One Trick Pony over the weekend that was crazy good.

Ha, I did do that didnt I. I agree on the style being perfect for summer! However, Shawn posted a pic on facebook a few weeks back, and all it said was "double IPA entering the tanks", and there was a litany of comments. So you can see where his hype mainly is (outside of his stouts, which I am curious to see if that style will be available, when the draft/to go options for the grand opening are announced next week)

last night had a can of the recent batch of Stratus, and I have to agree with others who posted this batch is not near as good as the last two batches, is isn't bad but it is not on par with the past cans.

In honor of my favorite sitcom, I shall, from this point forward, refer to More Brewing as "Moop" Brewing Co. That is all.

Reading this article, it made me realize how dumb the term "mouthfeel" is.
