I'm still a huge fan of Vine St./Mountain Sun. It's odd that people rarely mention them, yet they're almost always full. I'll need to head over there and give Tesserae a shot. I still think Hop Vivant and FYIPA are up there with the best west coast IPAs in the area, too. They're at least a little old school (much like Odell's is) but they were among the first beers in CO to truly capture what San Diego was doing in the late 00's.

Maybe it's because I don't like pineapple, but I can barely stomach this beer. I love me some Odd 13 but the last few tap room only releases haven't been very appealing to me. They've just had some funky flavors. I think I got spoiled last year with all the superfan variants!

That 6.15 superfan though is killing it. So much flavor. Its almost like a variant its so good.

Every time I drink superfan I ask myself why I don't just drink it all the time!

    From 4 Noses FB page

Releasing in the tap room tomorrow, Kilroy, a New England style Imperial IPA. Brewed with with more hops then we have ever put into a beer. The Motueka, Galaxy, and Mosaic hops bring out a plethora of fruity hop flavors! #FollowYourNose #4NosesBrewing

To start Kilroy is going to be available on draft and crowlers only. Limited amounts of draft will go out to market.
The aromas and flavor are quite a bit different than the previous NE IPAs we have done. We switched yeast from London 3 to Conan and the dry hopping regiment is a bit over the top. I think its pretty delicious, but I am biased so let me know!

We're definitely pretty spoiled here in Colorado! I really like your approach of visiting breweries that are engaged with the customer. These places that do stay active and engaged are often doing a great job in all aspects of steering ship. Curious to hear more about your experiences in CO and what you specifically enjoyed drinking. Cheers!

I like vine st but besides thin man and some of the bars/restaurants I've stopped at west of there on 17th I feel like there isn't much up there. Where else should I be looking? Would like to make a bike tour out of the area...

I always have to drive over that way so I'm not sure what I'd consider biking range. Cerebral and Station 26 are the closest breweries to Vine St. that I'm aware of.
There's all the stuff off of Colfax (Three Lions, Tacos Tequila Whiskey, Irish Snug, etc.)
I'm sure some of the folks that live over that way have a lot more knowledge than I do.

Moving to Vine St. next week, so any other ideas on this front would be very welcome!

Spangalang is great, in Five Points is about the only other brewery in the area aside from Cerebral, but lots of other great taps:
Good Zuur - a wild/sour beer bar, a block or two from Spangalang
Denver Bicycle Cafe is a great place with ~12 taps of nothing but small batch local stuff, always something I've never had on tap before, it's near 17th & Lafayette
Walter's 303 Pizza is a great place as well with 30 or so taps closer to 19th & Washington, as is Good Son near Colfax/York
Deep Draft is on 17th, but I typically pass it up because of all the great beer at Denver Bicycle Cafe

    Missed the original question.

I'd just do a bike tour of 17th street. Start on one end with Park & Co & Walter's 303 and work east to Denver Bicycle Cafe, then on to Deep Draft, then to Vine Street, then to Fat Sully's or Chow Urban to eat and end at Cerebral. *optional extension, keep heading down Colfax to Fiction, then up Quebec to Station 26.

    EDIT - Good Son closed.

Okay if anyone isn't sick of the canning dates issue, I've got one for you.

Odd13 just started printing canning dates on the bottom of every can! It's beautiful! I am appreciative of any efforts to date cans, and this is clearly a step in the right direction. There are 2 small issues with the previous system-
    1) I have had the stickers come off if I use ice to keep the beers cool.
    2) Some unscrupulous retailers may have been re-dating Odd 13 or other breweries that use this system to keep older stock from stagnating. I have no concrete proof but it would certainly be possible and I know I've seen 6-pack holders with a date-code stuck on top of another sticker underneath it.

With the dates printed on the bottom of the cans, re-dating the cans becomes impossible.

Picked up some n00b today and was looking for the sticker but found the date at the bottom of the can. Nice. Got some Melvin Drunken Master today also with date on the bottom (6/28 - really nice).

Thanks for the vine st suggestions...

Getting back on track I picked up a 6 pack of 4 noses ad hoc IPA - single hop Nelson Sauvin - pretty tasty and easy drinking IPA

Just got back from two nights of camping and three days of non-stop beer drinking and I have some thoughts...

We had a LOT of IPAs, both local - Extra Extra Juicy Bits, Lemon Meringue Fruity Bits, Alpha Bits 7, everything on at Outer Range on Friday - and regional - Trillium Fort Point, Monkish Our Names are Def, Aslin Special Drops: Summer Water - plus a few more.

After all of this, the best IPA I had all weekend was Alpha Bits 7, then probably a 3-way tie between Extra Extra Juicy Bits/Nature Shapes/Forestry. It is apparent to me that there is absolutely no need to trade for IPAs ever again (unless you just have to "tick"). CO is crushing the hop game right now!
