Wait, what?? Was there some event going on? I was just there Thursday and didn't have to pay...

It might just be that way for holiday weekends.

Going up to Maine tomorrow, haven't been since the move to the new location. Ironically, staying 15 minute walk from the brewery and was wondering if any of you knew the area and where another place to grab a drink may be?

The point is now paid parking due to growth and vitality. We want parking available for customers attending our local businesses, and to ensure that it is not being used for day parking.

People will chime in with a bunch of usual spots, Novar, Thirsty Pig, Kings head, etc.

I really like The Little Tap House, a little bit outside of the immediate downtown. Technically a little closer to Bissell actually. Check it out, they treat you really well and have a great tap list.

I was planning on going Saturday so I'm sure I'll get a sticker shock.

I don't like that is it's a private parking company. Portland city rates of $1.25/hour are OK, but if it's Unified Parking or some shady company like it, it could easily be $5/hour and they'll boot you if you're 2 minutes late. Then you'll have to pay $70 to get the boot removed. What bugs me is Thompson's Point is just doing it to make easy money. I've never had issues parking there (Well, except when there's an event - which all have paid parking) so this is an obvious money grab.

Only other thing I can think of is that people who were taking the public trans were parking there free and going into Portland.

Went yesterday (7-5) in the afternoon around 4p. Nice walk from my hotel, and was surprised Lux cans were still available. Great tap selection, and the outdoor seating was great!

Is there a standard can limit per purchase or does it vary depending on the beer/yield? Heading up to Maine next week and looking forward to getting as many cans as I can.

Anyone have a verdict on the parking cost? Headed there tomorrow. Will report back if no one else does. This is literally the most stressful part of my trip. It's not going to be very stressful at all.

I can't believe they're really charging for parking. It's fucking Maine.

It's really frustrating, and an obvious money grab. If the concern was people using thompson point as free parking for downtown why wouldn't they set 2 hour limit parking?

I wonder how Bissell feels about it...seems like it's going to do their business no favors. Last time I went to a Swish release I feel like I among many others parked in spots that weren't really spots by the back entrance.(like, parking there seemed legal but there were probably way more cars packed in than meters would allow)

Can't imagine the chaos that will be the next major release.

Lets be honest, the cryptozoological museum will be the ones truly hit by the parking fees...

Isn't that a system where you get a ticket that you have to display on your dash?

True, but I just don't see how they can justify making people pay to park in what isn't even a lot. It's literally a pile of crap.

Pave it, throw down some lines and I'll be more inclined to want to pay.
