My wife and I are flying in to Chicago on Friday. We're staying downtown but will uber places for food and drinks. Any of these breweries with hazy ipas have good food? After glancing through some of this thread, it looks like Forbidden Root and Corridor are two places to check out?

Both have good food. Half acre and lagunitas have great food but no hazy ipa.

Yeah I had originally planned on just going to Half Acre / Bad Apple until I saw this thread.

I had a burger at Corridor and it was very good. The pizza is solid as well. Both Corridor and FR have excellent hazy IPAs. Best in the city for sure. If you want a next level food experience, check out one of the Michelin Star restaurants.

Loving Juice Box right now. Heard 3.5 barrels left and it'll be gone by Tuesday from my conversation with the bartender

Forbidden Root and Corridor both have awesome food selections in my opinion. The burger at both is great, as well as the pizzas and mussels at Corridor, and that pork schnitzel sandwich at Forbidden Root rules as well. Would definitely recommend going to both places !

Are Corridor or FR kid friendly at all?

I'm at Corridor right now drinking Cosmic Juicebox and have to chime in with others that this is their best take on the NE style yet. I do have to say that this is coming off very dry for me when I prefer my NEIPAs not to be. But the way this is drinking, I am forgetting my small criticism of it. Well done, Corridor!

I recall seeing kids here but I wouldn't call it kid friendly. I don't see toddler high chairs and (since I'm here right now) any kids here at all at the moment.

We are very kid friendly. We do have high chairs and are willing to accommodate, cheers.

Really appreciate the info and glad this is the case! No need for special accommodations, just good to know death metal won't be playing in tge background. Thanks!

Reporting back.....cosmic juice box from Corridor is atop the NE style in Chicago. I am enjoying it just a tad more then FR's offerings, but Im splitting hairs. Personally, Old nations offerings rein as the best I have had in the Midwest. (Havent had narrow gauge yet). Point being, get here before Tuesday and get some. Previous poster stated Tuesday as projected date it would kick. Cheers!

I honestly just thought wasn't even close to living up to the first bottles. This batch was very thin, not even close to as hazy, and was lacking the big, juicy flavors from the first batch. I was very disappointed :slight_frown:

I had Van Hazen II & Cosmic Juice over the weekend...I think Corridor is making a case for being the best NE IPA maker in Chicagoland.

Mikerphone is my #1 currently but I think they have consistency issues....I've never had a bad batch (of this style) from Corridor.

I haven't had enough Noon Whistle to comment, and while I like the Forbidden Root stuff I've had, I haven't LOVED any of it.

It's a 2 horse race between Corridor & Mikerphone for me...but I have a feeling things might change on 7/15/17.

I've only had a couple from Corridor, but this is my general feeling as well. I'm not sold yet on 7/15 being a game changer, but I'm intrigued to find out.

At this point, I would prefer driving the 2-3 hours to get stuff from Old Nation or Transient from many things here. I hope Corridor keeps it up, since they are 5 minutes from me!

M-43 is about as good as this style gets.
