So...seems like Noon Whistle changed their tune about not distributing NE stuff, pretty quickly, eh? Pretty awesome!

So they are now distributing? I had a gummy about 4 months ago and wasn't too impressed but I wanna try again.

Apparently. Gummy Banter is theirs, and more than one place seems to have gotten it.

Picked up a four pack of Gummy Banter after really enjoying the Squishy Gummy on tap at Forbidden Root.
I am drinking my first can right now of Gummy Banter and this is horrible. Really messy. Brownish dishwater in appearance. Really horrible astringent chalky-esque after taste. Forcing myself to drink it as I hate to pour things down the drain. Glad I only got one four pack.

Seems like they brewed a second batch of Gummy Banter for distro. My cans from the brewery say Drink By 08/29/17 but the pics I've seen from retailers say 09/05/17.

It's funny, as soon as I post about how NW was hesitant to distribute, someone chimes in that the distro cans suck (so were they right?).

    How are yours?

My brewery release cans are good. Not personally one of my top Gummy beers but don't think anything is wrong with them. Might just be the hop choices.

Would be interested to hear more about the distro batch...

Yeah, I had two brewery release cans last night. Both were fine.

I did the exact same thing today, and I can't agree more. (Had lunch at FR)

This Gummy Banter is a malty, chalky mess, especially when compared to Squishy and even worse vs. Atomic Child or Cosmic Juice Box ... really unimpressed and hope that the other cans get better (somehow).

    FR - Radio Swan?
    If so,
$16. Limit 2 (trying to not sell out in 90mins this time)
If you can't make it on Tuesday, some will be hitting distro next week. Same quantity canned as Snoochie.

Here's the rest of the info for the release:

We're releasing Radio Swan--the first beer in a collaborative series with renegade, local artist Tony Fitzpatrick. A 6.4% NEIPA brewed with rye malt, Mosaic and El Dorado hops, Radio Swan is inspired by Tony's artwork of the same name.

Attendees will have the opportunity to purchase 4-packs, a limited edition tote featuring the Radio Swan artwork, and Forbidden Root glassware. All profits from the sale of non-consumable merchandise will benefit LaBagh Woods.

Come celebrate this beautiful collaboration of art and beer, drink Radio Swan on tap, and talk to artist Tony Fitzpatrick and head brewer Bj Pichman! And newly added to the night: Al Scorch will be here to sereande us with beautiful sounds.

P.S. - I just got back from the soft opening at More. Beers are great. The rye was the winner for me. Top notch. Do not pass it up.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought so. I thought it was way too malty. Didn't really get any juice. Definitely nowhere near as good as Squishy and Gummypocalypse.

Solemn Oath's pricing in general is pretty high across the board. Their growlers are $20-24 (about 0.25 savings per pint), the barrel aged bombers are $20 each. At $20 a 4 pack, or $20 a bomber, it better be incredible; you can't have a 'miss' at that price...but they often do ;/

Anyone try any of the Mikkeller offerings in Chicago yet? I was in Capones tonight and some of the 4 packs were in the $18-$20 range. Pretty steep for a 4 pack, especially without hearing many reviews.

Where are those Mikeller beers brewed? I doubt they are shipping them here from Denmark, so I'm curious from where they are
    coming from (States side).
