This was said in a trade group on Facebook. Im not claiming this statement just relaying what was said, I really hope it doesnt become reality.

I'd probably leave it alone, it's not true.

About as much reality i it as the already bottled, three year old ab huna waiting to be released. Right @roon ?

Someone mentioned there are seven DB Dos variants coming out? I think I heard about the Cinnamon one. Anyone have a complete listing? I did a google search and didn't find much. Also looked thru these pages a little bit and didn't see it.

So far I've seen them say...

    Vanilla
    Cinnamon
    Hazelnut
    Coffee
    Nilla/Cinnamon

Not sure if there will be two other or not?

I'm thinking the same thing, this many being released all within the same few weeks might lead to some "bottle fatigue" with Cycle fans. I'm betting demand will wane on these releases towards the end

Maybe not the double barrels. I think interest in cycle comes and goes. It just depends on what's released. I do think cycle's consistency has been very good lately. I wasn't a huge fan of the coffee week. And. I heard some grumblings about beer week but the collab week was on point.

Hey guys. Long time BA'er, new to this forum...

Visiting St. Pete for a wedding this weekend and hope to make the Cycle release (if it works, logistically). The hotel we're staying at (the Vinoy) is only a mile from the brewery... but it's a fairly jam-packed weekend, so just need to plan accordingly. Never been to a Cycle release before, so any insight to help this noob out would be appreciated!

Re: the DB Rare DOS Cinnamon release:
    • How fast do lines typically move? Say I were to show up just before 7:45am (Cycle's recommendation to get a full allotment)... what time could I reasonably expect to be outta there?
    • Does Cycle typically allow folks to go through the line more than once?
    • Any reasonable guesses as to the allocation on this one?
Re: the rest of the weekend:
    • My best window for beer-related adventures will be a few hours tomorrow (Friday) afternoon. Given our proximity to Cycle, should that be the top destination on my to-do list? Any current draft or crowler recommendations there? What's the food situation if we stop for lunch?
    • Any other noteworthy beer events going on in the Tampa / St. Pete area this weekend I oughta know about? Best way for me stay in the loop re: special tappings or releases elsewhere (CCB, Angry Chair, etc.)?
    • Any bars or bottle shops in the area I need to visit? Hoping to take a few local, limited distro brews back home to Chicago to share with the crew.
Apologies for the long post - especially if it's already been asked and answered here (I searched but didn't find exactly what I was looking for) - thanks in advance!

    Cheers,
    Chris

Cycles lines move pretty fast. Get there by 7:45 around an hour to hour and a half wait. It's cash only so it does move fast, but since it's a Saturday release and announced a few days in advance the line could be long and take 1.5 hours. Allotments most likely will be like the last DB release so likely 2 bottles.

Lots of good restaurants in the area. My advice get some sandwiches from Bodega and then walk back to Cycle. You could easily check out Green Bench as well. Go to Cycle first though (better beer in my opinion).

Sheps is close by and is a good local bottle shop.

    Enjoy your vacation!

The earlier you get to Cycle the closer to the front of the line you'll be. As mentioned above, getting there around 7:45 will most likely mean you're towards the end of the line and may have a decent wait.

Doug does not like people going through the line twice but I've seen it happen.

Allocations are dependent upon the # of people in line at 7:45 when he counts the line. I'd guess 2-4 per on this one.

Go to lunch at Engine #9. Get the wings for an appetizer and one of their amazing burgers. They also have a solid draft and bottle selection. It's on first street not too far from Cycle.

Other options close by that are what I'd consider "must visits" are Hops and Props on the pier, Ale and the Witch, and if possible, hit up Hawthorne bottle shop. Personal favorites due to the cool environments and such are Right Around the Corner and Green Bench.

Go to Sheps for the better bottle shop selection and Rally's on 4th Street which is right next door.

I got to cycle last time around 630 for the first db vla bottle and only waited 15min to get bottles. Like everyone else said, get there right before 745 and you'll be waiting for at least an hour. You're going to wait about an hour to 1.5 hr either way, just pick when that happens lol.

I suggest going to bodega, it's a small spot across from green bench...but I wouldn't suggest green bench . Other than that, HWB is epic for a relaxing glass of something you won't get anywhere else local.

Or just walk down central, it's a great time for food and beer.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone! Super helpful. Hoping to take advantage of your recommendations.

Another question re: the Cycle release... does their $30 price tag include tax?

I love how polarizing green bench seems to be. Their beers have improved tremendously and they have a great outdoor seating area. Sunshine City is probably one of the best locally available IPA's and their Turbid series is pretty solid. I don't go there for their beer specifically but the environment is solid and its in a great location.
