Follow this thread. We will probably be doing a small share at Winneshiek but the other hotels usually just have larger shares in the breakfast area. Otherwise try C&C during the day/evening.

Thank you. Do i just show up to them? I don't want to crash on anyone's and make it awkward. But if I bring some good beers then I assume that will make it less awkward.

It totally varies, at Assassin/KBBS release they had MD, Term Oil, Assassin, and BA Chainsmoker. B2 MD release had IPAs, MD and guest taps on.

I've never been lucky enough to attend a TG Stout release (and still am not), but my wife happened to beat me to our first MD lotto win. I'm curious if I'm able to at least wait in line with her there (and not enter) or if they keep tabs and make sure only winners are in line? Any info would be great! Cheers and hope to see some of you folks at the other shares down there either way!

At the Assassin release I was behind a group of 4 with and only 3 winners and once we got the the front he just went around to meet his wife on the way out so as long as nothing changed you should be able to accompany her and it went really quick and smooth so you shouldn't be waiting too long either way.

If you are smart and go towards the end of your time frame, she won't have to wait in any line and you can wait the 3 minutes in the parking lot while she grabs your beer for you.

I showed up about 10 minutes before my assigned pick up time for Assassin and they opened up the door for the 10 of us there about 2 minutes later and we were also in and out in 5ish minutes. As someone who hates waiting in line more than anything I couldn't have been happier.

True, I forgot they changed the format to not do actual pours/bottles and such to make it all move faster. Do people wait in line before their pickup time frame, and if so do they bring out any vintages sometimes? Thought that was kinda Clark's MO at these things, but maybe that was just with prior set ups.

I have only been to the last Assasin release and as I said I showed up about 10 minutes before my time in hopes I would be able to get in and out early and there was 9 -10 people in line before me and they let us in not too long after I walked up. No bottles were being shared or in sight I think the releases have gotten too big allow it.

On a side not has this current batch of Sosus(mine was bottled 7/10/17) been discussed? This is not the beer I remember from the last 2 batches I have had. Really piney and bitter not much juice to it at all.

Or you could just drink at Pulpit while she waits.

At '16 MD release, I asked if my wife could come in without a ticket, just to hang out. They responded no, but said she could hang out on one side of the fence while I stood on the other side and I could bring her beer. It was a tiny 3 foot temporary fence.
The whole release was very relaxed, and everyone working the event was understanding and willing to help people out.

@BeerGuy8315 Clark does walk around with cool bottles to share. I believe last year he was mostly at the early session. I believe sometimes he will give random people a bottle and tell them to pass it around.

Gonna cancel my Super 8 reservation for night of the 19th if anyone wants to try and grab it online.

Anybody know if/when Hopsmack was bottled recently? A whole bunch of it showed up at my local grocery store but I can't find a date on the bottles anywhere.

It was pretty recent. I had one this weekend that had been stored cold and was delicious.

Thanks! These are sitting out on a shelf, but only arrived on Thursday. I'll try a bomber, for the sake of science.

Should be dated on the neck. It can be really hard to read sometimes. The last bottling was near the middle/late June, though.

Anybody know if the King is getting distro? Or is it only taproom?

They posted they will see about distribution after this weekend, which is typically what they do for that kind of thing.

With Ragbrai going on this week it will probably be very limited distro....8,500 riders descending on Decorah could deplete the stock pile....

Stoked to finally make it to TG tomorrow. Will have completed my trifecta (HF, RR, TG)! Finally convinced the wife to drive a ways out of the way on our annual summer pilgrimage to the Twin Cities to visit her family. However what is the situation gonna look like with Ragbrai rolling through? We'll be getting there around opening. No big desire to hang out for a while, just grab a pint and some bombers to go.
