The cinnamon isn't supposed to be as good compared to the vanilla or at least that's what I've heard from people that had both. I've got a bottle of both will report back once I've opened.

Wow that beer was out of this world if it's '16. Will be interesting to try a double barrel version of an already produced beer to see how it compares

Guys, I would think the one this weekend is the beer in question. It's hazelnut with cinnamon barrels instead of actual cinnamon. Close enough

Big adventure has chilies, cocoa nibs and vanilla so it's kind of hard to compare. That being said, I definitely prefer big adventure.

I assume he means the upcoming double barrel hazelnut bottles since a cinnamon bourbon barrel is involved. Wednesday '16 is cinnamon hazelnut.

Based on db vanilla dos and db cinnamon rare dos, I don't think db hazelnut rare dos will be close to what a DB wednesday would be

Well it doesn't make sense to release beers that are that similar but what do I know? I guess it could happen

They're all quite similar to be honest

How would it not be close? They contain the same ingredients except they're using a cinnamon bourbon barrel instead of actual cinnamon.

After having had DB vanilla and cinnamon, I don't see how the hazelnut one can be like wednesday 16. The hazelnut in wednesday was absolutely insane, mouthfeel of that beer much better than both DB's. Possibly I'll be proven wrong. I hope I will.

If they used powdered hazelnut spread like brewers who use PB2 for peanut butter beers, that's going to affect the mouthfeel. Unless they used a different recipe for the base stout, I'm in the camp that the finish product isn't going to be that far off from Wednesday 2016.

We won't know how it really is until we taste it but based on the ingredients they're using, we have to believe it will taste similar to Wednesday '16. Even if the viscosity levels are different, I guarantee you they will taste similar.

The 2016 Wednesday's I've opened have not been thick or full bodied. More on the medium to medium plus side. I feel the same way about the Double barrel cinnamon DOS. It wasn't quite as thick as thick as I'd like.

Double barrel vanilla had the best mouth feel out of the three for me.

Doug just needs to get with Arkane and brew a huge batch of Ecto and barrel age it and bottle it!
